Thread: Beautiful Women Harmful to Men??

I think it's true, to an extent.

Just like women look at other hot women - who are the objects of so many men's affections - and it makes them more self conscious, guys have a perception of what kind of men these hot women are most likely go for (physically), and it makes many of us more self conscious about ourselves as well.

Not sure that it's too big a deal, and I wouldn't really call it them "harmful" to men, but I think it definitely plays a role. Overall, there is simply too much emphasis on "beauty" in the media.

Harmful?! LOL! Maybe for some guys, but for me it's the opposite, beautiful women are the source of my inspiration and passion for life. I think a world full of ugly women would be a lot more harmful to men... imagine all women being butt ugly, reproduction would stop and our species would come to an end!

Well I didn't pick the title, the journalist or whomever did.
Anyway, and I'm not looking for trouble saying this but it's very true....
any guy need not worry about his image because any man with money

No, our perceptions of 'sexy' would change. No species dies off from being too ugly. Ugly is subjective.

Lots and lots of what men consider beautiful and sexy is hardwired into the brain. If this weren't so, people would be aroused by trains, paper and plants. They are not. Hence, beauty is not subjective.

In all seriousness though, you can change your beliefs of what is sexy to you and what isn't. If for instance, you always have sex in a field of jade plants, while dressed as a jade plant, I propose there is a very good chance you'll find jade plants sexy.

I also heard some people like to do it dressed as giant teddy bears.

While much of what is considered sexy may be hard wired into our brains, not everything is.

Beauty is objective, our standard of it is not.


If all women were butt ugly, the most beautiful (read: the less ugly ) would become the standard for sexy. If after that the levels of feminine beauty in the world went back to normal, our genitals would explode.

OK, I see what you mean. However, evolution is extremely slow, both biologically and culturally.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Im sure the ppl on ET's world all think theyre beautiful.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, thats true, I like all women, to me all women are beautiful, some are way more beautiful than others nonetheless. But at the same time, beauty is in their own mind. Meaning, if you honestly believe you are ugly, you will dress ugly, behave ugly, keep your hair ugly, and as an inevitable effect, be ugly. Look at Paris Hilton for the best example, she has an ugly face, but at the same time she's hot.

I seriously believe uglyness of the soul directly reflects on the outside. I can tell by just seeing someone how their personality is, body language, nervous ticks, face distortion, clothing, etc.. and I can't remember a time where my first impression was wrong.. except for good actors then, they can change their behavior completely to fool you, but people like that are very rare.

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, there is no point in trying to understand the next person's definition of beauty.

On the other hand, there are all those chicks who think they're ugly and go to extravagant lengths to seem beautiful. Somtimes, these are the same women who are considered the most beautiful. I happen to know quite a few.
