oops...
...most people generally say that its ok so long as the other, even if they are a dream-construct, says its ok...as for the cheating thing, to each their own...
i had a thought from an LD last night, what is your opinion of sex in a dream? is it alright? immoral? doesnt matter?
i dont think theres really anything wrong with it, to an extent, unless of course you are obligated to somebody in the physical world because i think that would fall under the category of cheating. i would also consider it to be immoral if that is all you use an LD for.

i think its safe sex

I think you have problems if you have someone in real life and still only use lucid dreams for sex.
wow... i thought i bought an original topic to the forums lol, well then... nvm!![]()

I think its fine. I meen, if you have a nice partner, its wrong, but if you have a crappy partner, its fine.
Hmm... as long as it isn't rape.
I'm just in love with flying, then again i'm not a guy...
If you really had the motivation, I'm sure you could be in a dream.I'm just in love with flying, then again i'm not a guy...[/b]![]()
Sex in a dream? Nothing wrong with it... In a lucid dream? Where you bring it up on your own? I would consider that about as close to cheating as you can possibly get. I see it like this, if you think it is "ok" to have sex in a lucid dream because it isn't "real" and no one will know, mentally, it is no different than cheating in real life. And to me, a relationship has 3 parts, mental, emotional, and physical. So you are 1/3 of the way to cheating. If you use LDs just for sex.... shame on youBut hey, thats just me...to each his own.
Its hard to dream recall when your starin' down the barrel of a loaded Thnikkaman.
If its not cheating if you pretend your wife is someone else while you have sex, why would it matter if you pretend your some else when you have sex with yourself in your mind?

Even if you are obligated to somoene and you would never cheat on then (in waking life) I think LDs could be a safe alternative to bottoling up sexual tension that does acccur from time to time.
This outlet could actually prevent you from dining it , no?
I never have sex in my drams------How lame.
Couldn't agree more. If it's a one or two time thing I can only see it as normal. I've done stuff in my dreams which would have me killed on earth, but I don't bottle it up and get depressed about it. It's a release we all need. Think about the guy who's too ashamed to admit he's a homo and ends up killing himself because he can't come to terms with it? The only thing wrong with it is that in his mind, it's shameful. Imagine if we had to maintain this sense of control in our dream state. Our minds are the only place we can really be unrestricted. If it's a case where one continually dreams about another person in particular (yet has a partner), it's definitely something he/she needs to confront. Morality only works so far. When it interferes with emotion, well, picture morality as Hiroshima and emotion as the bombOriginally posted by Howetzer

In this crazy world if they don't consider you mad, then you have no confirmation of your own sanity, do you?
Imagine if this crazy world thought you were sane?! Oh my God, worst nightmare!

I tend to have sexual experiences in dreams often. The problem is that I can never seem to 'feel' anything. Certin things feel okay (like drinking watered down wine), but as for well.... The final act of 'knocking boots', it has no sensation. I've even had dream characters with whom i was intimate/involved say 'I can't do that."
Anyone had any similar experiences?

I don't see any reason why it would be wrong.... In fact whatever a couple agrees upon in their sexual lives is fine as long as it's consensual all-around.
The idea of dream sex being "cheating" seems silly.
That's like saying if you think about Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie when you masturbate that you're "cheating" on your partner. A lucid sex dream would be no different that a waking sex fantasy. Besides people fantasize about all sorts of things they would not be aroused by in IRL. Part of the turn on is that you can control the whole scenario and do things you wouldn't give yourself permission to do normally.
Now if you are ONLY aroused by the idea of dream sex, you might want to get some therapy, but as long as it's healthy and you're not sleepin 12 hours a day to get off in your dreams then have fun, lol![]()
yeah I would like to see the argument for why sex in a dream is cheating. How is having sex with yourself cheating? So then if sex in a dream is cheating (having sex with yourself), then you would also have to agree that masturbating is also cheating, because fundamentally, the two are really no different. Do you really believe that? There are a number of committed couples who still masturbate.
Insanity is the new avant-garde.

I am still trying to have sex with Britney Spears in a lucid dream. When I finally do it, it is going to be damn good, and nobody is going to get hurt. I also doubt Britney will get pregnant. If she does, it will be because of something she did in real life. By the way... I'm single.
I agree with the point that sex in a lucid dream is no more like cheating than thinking of somebody else when you masturbate. It's just a better version of the same sort of thing. I am not the commitment type, but for whatever it's worth, I say that keeping your organs limited to one person is difficult enough. Asking for somebody to also limit his fantasies to one person is really asking for a lot. However, if that's what your lover requests, then perhaps it should be respected. Ask your lover if he/she wants to have an open relationship in the dream world. You might get slapped, but such a slap might not be moral.
well, i had one the other week, and it was brilliant!
i had no problem with sensation whatsoever, but it makes me an adulteress if this thread is correct, cos he's married!!
it was lucid...
guess it's the ultimate fantasy...
