Maybe that's why some of the most enlightened philosophers (Buddha et al) were not very sexually active (or am I wrong in saying this).

I think in order to have a clear mind, spiritually, mentally and physically, abstaining from sex helps in that goal.

Hmm..no, dont quite agree completely..

Sex might even help in the matter..living in solitude,doing nothing but learning, hardly eating, abstaining from any form of sex..being some sort of monk..nay, that is not the only thing there is to there, to achieve not only spiritual(semi,its not the end) enlightment, but enlightment comes with so much more.

Sex without love, I say you abstain from that anyway, but sex with love..Yes, this is good for you. The emotional orgasm achieved, when the energies of one become even more one with the other, then they would are, being connected trough the everything. It strenghtens you..it gives you willpower..its positive energy..pure love, makes you love another even more.

Trough this strength..this love, a person might change completely..

Enlightment is something diffirent then most people see it, it goes beyond simple spiritual completement, supreme wisdom and knowledge and awareness..also, the word awareness, might be something else then alot of people see it.

Not having sex with the one you love deeply will do nobody any good, its a way of getting even closer..closer with one another, and with the all

This only goes for sex with pure love, sex without love, dont know about that. Getting rid of sexual energies might even clear the mind so it is more empty again so it may continue on its path.

The real point I was making was related to the incorrect use of sexual energy through wanton indulgence of lustful/unproductive urges or by- products of bored behaviour.

'Tis so true that a loving union through sex is ultimately life-enhancing and not counter-productive to personal growth.

Love eventually, in the end, will liberate....NOT just mind and an unbending intent.

You know, this is the first time I think this connection has been brought up. For those who may not know, I'm a 17-year-old male...and quite the off-beat one at that. Ignoring special interest from those that do not catch my attentive curiosity is but a regular happening of my child-like self that one so eloquently put it as "boy-toyish." I've rarely confided in others enough to let them in on such private matters - but the few that know, find it disorienting that I have so little interest in sexual activity. To me, it's a stale discovery - one that I made much later than my peers. I have yet to be in love, so I'm sure this is the reason for my lack of inviting enthusiasm.

But since, I too have discovered the benefits of choking out emotionlessness.

On a related note... Some with experience with meditation may also find that food is encompassed by this effect to a certain extent. I often feel nauseous during really deep meditation sessions...thus I eat scarcely about once a day, and take care to ingest healthy, pure food.

If I stop for awhile I do have lucid dreams. But it's near impossible to stop something like that. Anyone know what I mean?

Why feel intimidated or distracted by it's baser temporary needs for satisfaction?

Once during a lucid dream in a shopping centre I was hit with an overpowering feeling of clarity and truth that made me squeel like a child again because it was TRUTH - I screamed out "I want this SO MUCH!!!!!!'.

Obviously I was meaning the ability to be completely me and FREE in my non-physical state - nothing compared to such peace and freedom, nope, not even the sex I've had - and I am very passionate

It's all a matter of preference and priority.

Echo.. be prepared for a life of frustration, confusion (not yours of course) impatience and possibly.. loneliness.. not too many "boy-toyish" people walking this planet like you. Anyhoot, I've been dying to make this comment about sexual vibrations (or horniness to be frank) it works for me. It actually, desire for sexual release after years of abstinence, is what brought me to the next level of dreaming. I have MANY BOOKS (years) of my dreams.. lots are pregonitive and have helped me in life. I have tons of books I purchased on dreaming and many on lucid dreaming but was skeptical.. I didn't want to control my dreams because not controlling them is what has helped me in my life, but it was my desire for sexual release that made me aware that I was dreaming one night and I became lucid without even realizing it.. I was watching people having sex and I started commanding more people (and orgy if you will) I just controlled the dream and was like "wow, I'm telling my dream what to give me" and then I said "Oh shit.. let me take this to the next level and bring a lover right to me" man oh man... careful what you wish for.. I suddenly started to vibrate all over my body and felt a presence on top of me, with my eyes closed, I could see he was going to kiss me.. nothing to fear, this dream induced image was tender and loving and I was awake.... and this thing was pulling me out of my body.. before the image could kiss me I said "No.. not now..I'm not ready" and POOF... the vibration slowed and went away, I woke up with my hands above my chest (as to push away this body) and I was awake ever since... I couldn't even sleep in my room for 2 days. I did my research, read the books I had on lucid dreaming (well, blew the dust off them first) and realized what I had was a lucid dream heading into an OOBE (with help from that "something" that was embracing me).

Been awake ever since.......(but never had a lucid experience like that since, but plan on.. not sexually though...well may be

Abstaining from sex.. (abstaining from LUST really) I think, has helped with this adventure. I don't have casual sex. People meet me.. they can't believe I'm not married or have a boyfriend, they look at me and ASSUME I should be with someone because of the way I look... so superficial... life is more than just a pretty face, great body and fulfilling your dirty desires. Life is about trying to SELF ACTUALIZE before you die. That's my mission. Dreaming I believe, will help me get there.

It was MY sexual frustration through respecting the serpent between my legs that brought on intense dreaming - just a liitle more effort and I was floating out of body with total ease most mornings at around 3 am (the right time according to our dreaming brain and partially recharged energy body).

Last night I had so many hot-air balloon dreams that in the dream I thought to myself "Yawn! Well I KNOW what all this means!"

Had nasal surgery on Monday - nose is twice the width with swelling....sexual energy is being used in rapid healing of the mess on my face, me hopes!!

I am very very playful and silly by nature, on top of that I look like Im 18 or 19 or something, people never believe when they say Im 21(but I actually WANNA look young as I hate being old, I do everything I can from eastern herbs to normal cremes,to working out..bla I wanna be young you know, dont wanna grow old! ( , but age over here is nothing but a number..and perhaps pshysical apearence..(oh and blissful didnt I tell you my age already back then when I explained that stuff)

Hence, my astral body has the apearence of a young boy, that actually matches my personality. Silly,carefree,playful...though I might be young and playful, I am not childish, dont confuse playful with chidish : P people tend to do that

Do not be mistaken, I do have a certain amount of wisdom and I know when to be serious and deep, I've been spiritual and religious into new age and buddhistic faith for years and years, I am a natural LDer, I meditate everyday, I astral project..but seriously, I see no use in being serious all the time, and acting like you are all spiritually evolved.

Like said..semi enlightment, the release from Samsara, the current plane, comes with much more diffirent things, not only being spiritually evolved..but that is for people to find out on their own.

How I got deep about love..being very very lonely all my life, having failure relationships with wrong people..and the love of a twin flame..

Here is me looking all serious, but holding something silly at the same time, sometimes I am forced to hide my inner self, as it wont cause good reactions sometimes lol (in normal pshysical life), oh and I had to replace the orginal text I wrote on the paper on paint cuz it was meant for somebody else, not my twin flame, but a vey special person : P

Well I cant say I am like a master of potions or something : P Young looks run in the family, my mother is 47, everybody thinks she is 35 or something LOL.(well I gues thats a good thing) And I gues she is still young of spirit aswell, so really, it does help, if you wanna look young you gotta be young, it sure beats the hell out of plasti surgery! : P

But, next to naturally looking young(and the many extra stuff I use way to earlie : P) I keep a young spirit, that keeps me young, though, this cannot last foreer of course No matter how hard I try one day I am going to age sadly.. but my astral body never ages! ^_^

LOL when Im serious suddenly peoples age estimation goes up with some years, so behavior greatly influenes it aswell, ways of speaking, how you dress, silliness rate,what music you like..etc seem to bias peoples opinions about your age. Really if I was with you I could complete that impression of a 16 year old, but I can make you doubt it highly aswell : P

Lol over here you need to be 18 for alot stuff, so I dont get asked ID that much, not that I do that much that needs an ID..my idea of playful and having fun is very childlike too..so not going out to a club, getting drunk or something, doing lots of drugs, flirting with as many people as possible, trying to act cool..blabla, not my thing of course

You know what.. I look very young for my age too and I think it's because of my spirit. I'm very young on the inside as well. I get carded all the time and I LOVE IT (and I'm in my late 30's). One time on the beach, I had pig tails and no makeup. One person thought I was 18 and nearly died when I told him my real age (actually, he didn't believe me and thought I was pulling one on him).

Comment about being gay: Isn't this becoming an acceptable lifestyle in this day and age? Why is it still difficult to make friends then? I wish I knew more gay men. I think they are the best.

its not that alot of people dont accept it, some dont of course but thats besides the point. The point is I like pshysicaly messing around(again non sexualy) like jumping on something and rolling around strugling and then sitting on top of that person or something, just an example. Or just huggle people I like all the time. Well, when you are a straight man and a gay person does that to you, you feel uncomfertable I gues, cant really blaim them.(I dont assume this, I know this, believe me I did think like why would they care, but they do)

I dont completely hide my spirituality, I tell them I am, but I dont talk about it alot. When I would talk about it all the time, and try explain things people around my age start seeing me as boring and serious, which I dont wanna. Besides they wouldnt really understand anyway, or think I am weird, my spirituality isnt everyday stuff I gues lol. Though I can enjoy a spiritual convo from time to time, not too much though.

Yes, I see what you mean. I'm spiritual and I don't hide that but I surely don't want to bore people to death or worse.. scare them off. It's sad because I bet there are more people walking around just like us an they are probably afraid to share because they may freak us out. However, most people who know me know I'm into dream interpretation. If they ask questions, I'm happy to discuss the topic in full...

As for gay... I can see that feeling people get going away in about 10 years. Gay and Bisexual life will be the norm and accepted in society. It's already becoming a huge issue with marriage and such. My sister lives in a state where there are a lot of great looking guys. She says these days (she's activity dating) you have to ask a guy if he's gay or bi before dating...

Yeah, I'm beginning to see what you mean. I have only met a few people that share any common characteristics with me, but no one with complete like mind...which is all I ever wanted. I believe to find the right girl would be to find everything. A girl that shares beautiful, like mind could be my best friend, as well as my lover.

I too have such silly & off-beat, playful qualities that \"boy-toyish\" isn't that bad of a term. But \"boy-toyish\" is not to be confused with a girl that subserviently lays...I merely have femininity - in addition to leather strap bracelets, I wear a cut-off rainbow-colored belt as a buckle bracelet that my sister shares part of. My dark, wavy hair flips up over my ears and bounces as I walk with a playful cheeriness that can only make it more fun to do so! I'll sprawl out on the floor at lunch drawing \"A Crow Left Of The Murder\"...people will think you're weird for this. But It's from my own personal experiences and observations that I believe femininity like ours is what makes a better person. I've never known femininity to be what drives a person to destroy a fellow being by means of demeaning nicknamecalling, mental degredation, or simply physically killing. It's this feminine energy that I feel that inclines me to believe that it comes from a higher power. I'm juz referring to dreams, in which my love for a partner is mind-boggling intense, and I never had sex with them...or not yet, at least. In this world, I'm still a virgin. I imagine that one day would be very very special.
