I have literally no idea when it comes to choosing an art program (eg. Photoshop etc.) However I need one. I primarily need it for manipulating photos but I would like to be able to draw and create pictures with it as well. It has to be a fairly easy system to use as I have very little experience, as you may have gathered.

MODERATORS: I thought this would be better suited in Artists Corner than Tech Talk as the people who frequent it are more likely to have experience with what I'm looking for.

Photoshop is still the standard. It's primarily for manipulating photos, but can also do drawings. Gimp is a free alternative, it has its advantages and disadvantages.

      Get paint.NET

It's a pretty simple (and free) program with a lovely interface and a healthy selection of features.
