I used to LOVE origami!! (I still love to tear paper)![]()
You're really good at it.. those are great!!
Let's see.. since May's lucid task is about a tree.. how about making an origami "PALM" tree?!
.
I have been interested in origami for most of my life, at least since I was four. I started with the same basic things that most people make at some point, and have been slowly getting better, to the point where I now design origami models. Here's a couple things I made in the last couple weeks.
Dragon
Mouse
I'll upload a couple more models in the next day or two. Also, if anyone wants me to try and design something in particular, just suggest it, and I'll try to make it and upload it here.

I'm alright at oragami. I haven't spent much time with it, but I can make the basics:

Dammit, just tried to make a duck. What the hell's a reverse fold?! Needless to say I scrunched it up into a ball and threw it on the floor. That's the problem with origami, it's far too easy to just destroy whatever you've done. I did make a boat that worked though. That was fun, it even floats.

As suggested, a model inspired by this month's advanced lucid task.
Thanks for the compliments. I'll upload another tomorrow, probably a velociraptor.
Here's a couple models I made last year, I was asked to design these by members of another forum.

This wasn't a chicken/farming forum was it...?

good work!
these are great models you designed.
I love origami, and I also designed a few models of my own, the best of them were a beatle, and a Shogi piece.
check out this top ten list of models in this page, really awsome!

ok.. I love the palm tree.. how about making me an armadillo!
My origami skills are limited to Ninja stars and waterbombs, you know, the practical stuff. My elementary school used to be littered with those things.

Those look amazing. I can barely make a paper air plain lol!

Armadillo
I've also made a praying mantis, but it's not flat enough to scan, and I need to recharge the batteries for the digital camera, so it'll be a couple hours at the least before I post it.
Awwww, I'll name him Armando .. Armando the Armadillo!!
.
The mantis is good.

Wow! Those are impressive! I can't imagine coming up with my own designs!
I'm able to do a few medium-difficulty things, as I still can't keep the names of the folds straight. I just go by how the pictures look. I've been working on a dragonfly with two pieces of paper and I have had the wings sitting by my computer for a few days. I think I may have figured out what I was supposed to be doing with the body, but we'll find out.
I have an affinity for making candy boxes, though. There's a four-pointed star box that I found out how to do accidentally (and can't remember how I did it), and a smaller box. I'll take pictures.

Warrior with a sword and shield
I first came up with this one a couple years ago, but the earlier versions weren't nearly as well done. I only thought to add the shield about a month ago, and it wasn't until today that I got the porportions quite right.
The more I study your "warrior".. the more I like him!

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I've just gotta comment on this. There is some downright amazing work in this thread, Serith! Outstanding! Those designs of your own are incredible, all of them.
I've been messing around with origami, off and on, for years. I've got a few books, one or two really good ones, and I've done quite a few of the more advanced animal figures I could find. So I definitely can understand the thought and work that goes into this.
Designing your own is just...wow. Thanks, seeing this thread just made my night.
