Guuuuhhh, my tablet has just decided it wants to hold another strike on me. Please don't, baby, you know I love you ;__; And I neeeed to draw comics!

Oh well. I thought I'd share some doodlings here, because I doodle a whole craplot, and never post the results anywhere. And then I wonder why I never have anything finished to share.

Centipede Woman. I...I really don't know. She started off as an attempt to draw one of my dream characters, and then I started adding arms, and...and legs...and now she's Centipede Woman. She appeared in one of my dreams this morning, and it was terrifying. She'll gueststar along with Bird Woman in the first chapter of 'name', one of my comic experiments.

And here are recent concept arts for another comic I'm currently working on-- It's supposed to be a sort of fairytale-esque children's story, y'know, with lots of monsters with lots of teeth and bloodshed and all the wonderful horror that always seems to come with good children's stories. I want to make it for my nephews, but I'm not sure their mom would forgive me ; ; No monsters here, though, just character designs.

The cursed Prince, whose bandages hide a big bitey mouth where his tummy should be.
Of which can be seen here. Rawr.
The tummy loves you. This one also shows Quamuy, who is actually the main character of the story. He loves everyone.
And, the Prince's sister. (They're twins! *loves twins*)

Hey Rokuni, these are great character studies! I'm not really a big anime fan or anything like that, but I do have an interest in character creation and storyboarding. You seem to have some good solid foundations for these characters and just need to get yourself motivaded to follow through.

I would just take a couple of them, make up a short little story around them and render a complete and finished comicbook "skit". Once you see what the results could look like you might find yourself motivated to do more - and you won't have to wonder why you never have anything finished to share.

      Mahalo for sharing

I agree. I love the character concepts.

Especially the bandages hiding the stomach/mouth and how the prince's twin looks just like him, if she cuts her hair. There is a lot of fun you can have with those two concepts alone, storywise.

      Great work. Keep on sharin'.

That's actually what I'm doing with 'name'. It will only have two chapters, but it's my experiment in comicking-- paneling, background, body language (since the main characters...hardly talk at all), dialogue from other characters, and also digital toning. So far it's alot of fun.

And oh, motivation... Really, I wish I could just illustrate stories all my life. I think my real problem is insecurity. Quamuy's comic got shelved for a while because I worried that it wasn't exciting enough for my nephews, or that they wouldn't like my characters, or that it was too exciting for their mother (she's a bit, ah, religiously strict). I finally had to realize that I wanted to do the comic for -me-, first and foremost. So now I've picked it up again. Other stories go the same way, though. I worry that they're too boring, too cliche, too long... Once I start, they're easy (and so much fun&#33 to keep going.

Thanks so much for your comment! I really appreciate it :3

      (First, thank you&#33 I'm actually having a bit of a problem with that *laugh* I originally created them to be very minor characters, there for a chapter, and then gone. But now that I've fleshed them out a bit, I'm really wanting one or both to tag along for the whole story. Otherwise, I want to give them their own story. I'm reallyreally bad at making disposable characters ;;

Another character, while we're at it~ This is a wip from the first page.

Mwra (or Muura, either way works), Quamuy's giant wolf companion. She's sort of his guardian, and sort of a lesser god. Depending on the legend, she sometimes has many heads, or many eyes, two tails or five, and sometimes she's a wolf, sometimes a woman. I still need lots more practice drawing wolves, ohman. Here's an older doodle of her as a human. She's...supertall. Crazytall. And not very friendly. Quamuy is the only one who doesn't seem to notice this. He thinks she's a giant lovable teddy bear.

      Eek, I ramble alot.
