Nice ataraxis.
Manipulation. Never quite thought of it that way. But I can't really say it is anything but.

Some of them I just added a little thing or fixed the color up though on photoshop (like the last one I added a glow)

Nice, Alex. Very nice. I really like the first one, and the butterfly one. The first one has very interesting lighting, which definately added to it. And the butterfly one is just really crisp and nice. I'm guessing you manipulated the colors to be a tad more vibrant. Turned out fantastic.

Nice, Alex. *Very nice. *I really like the first one, and the butterfly one. *The first one has very interesting lighting, which definately added to it. *And the butterfly one is just really crisp and nice. *I'm guessing you manipulated the colors to be a tad more vibrant. *Turned out fantastic. With the first one, all I did was move the color balance from yellow to cyan. It had an overall yellow hue and the move to cyan neutralized that. WIth the butterfly one, all I did was crop it and add a border
I was thinking of manipulating it but I liked it like it was.
It's a canon.... "PowerShot S2 1S"
Hmm...never heard of it, actually.
I have a Canon Powershot A520
Cool photos, Alex.

Image processing isn't same as manipulating. Fixing colors, contrast, sharpness and such things is just finishing off the image. I, for instance, do some basic processing for every image (levels, curves, sharpness), but I shoot in RAW format. If you shoot JPEG, the camera does the processing, but it doesn't give as much freedom for you. You can also do the pretty much the same things for film photographs in the development.
But now to the important. I liked your photos, especially the kitty picture, blue glowing, the airfield and the road with the sign (second last). Kitty gets points for the neat lightning - photography is drawing with light.
The doggy pic is actually pretty bad (straight flash, cut ears, confusing background), but the rest of the picures are good. Keep up the good work!
PS. It's funny how people always ask what camera you have, when they see good pictures. It's all about the camera, isn't it?
Don't think about those damn kangaroos.
Yeah... I process a lot of my pictures. With the dog pic... I know it's bad. I just like the fact it's a good quality pic... more of a snapshot than an artsy picture.Originally posted by Hate
