Hmm, I think you're right, NeAvO - time for a new paragraph to read? Any suggestions? If it were up to me, I'd prolly just pick another HP excerpt, or maybe LOTR, but what are some other good ones?

I couldn't disagree more. Celtic music is among of the most stirring and emotion-packed of any I'm familiar with... even when it's in Gaelic and I don't understand a thing. Maybe even ESPECIALLY when it's in Gaelic.

Lum may yer lum reek. Whatever that means... but it is a greeting I was taught by an old Scot.

(He also taught me to reply to that greeting with "Aye - mid another man's coals.")

I meant our accents aren't classy. And to be perfectly honest, I live way too close to two areas that were condemned for high poverty levels. By no means am I in any danger of being labelled as "in poverty," at all, but the accent of these people rubs off on anybody who goes to school with them for a long time.

Also, yes, you got that a bit wrong.

It's, "Lang may yer lum reek wi ithers' cowl." Or, long may your chimney smoke -- with another man's coal. I'm not sure what it means except for "good luck."
