Adoption Clean-up

Just to let you know, five pages of "adopt me" requests is a bit too much, so I will be going through and deleting most of the older request posts. If there's a more informative post, I might leave it until I decide what to do with it.

If any of the DGs want to add something, go ahead

And continue to let me know if you have any suggestions about the adoption forum.

Ame, I've been locking threads when people get adopted - do you want me to delete them so they're not taking up space instead?

Also, probably at least 40% of people who start an "adopt me" thread haven't been here for 2 weeks, so I lock the thread and open it back up again in 2 weeks time - which is kinda a pain in the arse because then I need to keep track of dates and stuff. Then when I unlock it 2 wks later, I don't know if that person is even still active on DV anymore, or even if they still want to be up for adoption. Maybe we should just delete these threads and have them re-post when their 2 weeks are up... I dunno, just throwing out ideas. I wonder if there's a way to not allow people to post in the Adoption forum until their 2 weeks are up or something.

I think it's a matter of people not reading the Adoption Guidelines ahead of time and just jumping right into it before doing any research.

Well, I was also locking the threads of people who haven't been here for two weeks, but I'm thinking of just deleting the ones that are over a month old or so. I was thinking that we should probably come up with a system or set of guidelines for locking/deleting, but I'll think about that tonight (or after I get done posting this)

Just keep doing what you're doing until we decide.

Why don't you make it so people have to be a member of the 'Adoption group' to post here, and they can only join the group after 2 weeks.

That's a good idea!

I'm assuming that the Adoption Group fell through when we changed servers, so we'd have to find something else, but maybe we could just do post-approval on this forum. (Approving posts is really quick so I don't think it'd be a problem.)
