      Chasing a Crow

Hi there, I'm new here and am glad to be here too. The other night I had a dream that's been kind of bugging me. Forgive me for any possible vagueness but I remember being outside of my house at night, with a big bright full moon overhead, the trees were eerie looking like something from a spooky forest. Anyway, I remember a crow cackling and calling out loudly, and it wore a wide-brimmed hat (I don't know if it was fedora or not, but looked pretty stylish on it I might add)

However, as I kept trying to catch this crow, after awhile it flew up and circled the bright moon. I kept on trying to catch it, but was pulled away by others asking me to help them do a chore, and by the time I came back, and the crow was waiting for me, almost like chasing it was a game, again I would be pulled away by another errand.

      Any ideas? Thanks.

      Hi! Welcome

It's always good to write down your dreams after having one if you feel it was important, that way you might remember little clues that help dream interpretation greatly! But then I'm a believer that if we're meant to learn something significant from our dreams, we'll remember it

I'll share some views on what your dream might mean...

The setting being at night could mean this dream is about your own inner world, things that are in the dark, your own questions - possibly even fears, especially since the scene seems to be a classic horror movie - full moon and creepy trees. So, basically, it could be about confronting fears. Full moons are when are energy is at it's highest in all senses and also our intuition. So this dream could be about making you look at your intuitive, creative or feminine (yin) side. The moon and night are both yin elements. It's asking you to look inwards to solve your problems and confront your fears.

Crows are powerful animals with spiritual messages. Typically, the have been associated with magic and seeing into the other worlds (spirit world). They have also been associated with showing messages to us, and making us wake up to things we don't want to notice, or haven't noticed before (hence their calls being so loud and vivid). They are also associated with death and change. Again, the crow is a black creature, which is associated with the yin aspect of the soul.

Hats can represent the image we want to portray to the world. What else did the crow look like in the hat? Did it appear mysterious? Perhaps the hat is merely on the crow to show you that it's message is to you is to look at the roles you play in your life. Maybe you are paying a lot of attention to your outside and neglecting your own inner world.

Trying to capture the crow shows you have a need to incorporate what the crow represents into your own world. So this could be the need to be more spiritual and follow your intuition, the need to change and the need to face your inner fears. The obstacles to this could mean that at the moment in your life, it is not the right time for you to achieve this, or that you feel that other people and life is stopping you from achieving this.

      ---

Take a look at what I said and think about what you feel the crow represents to you. How did the crow make you feel ? What do you feel his message was ?

I like crows, they have a sinister personality. Personally, I think they are messengers from the under/other worlds and they have important dream messengers to give people from relatives and spirits. Also I think the communion in waking with such birds is actually a dream time or sleep walking.

So there you have it, maybe this bird has something to tell you. He tells you about the beauty of night and the opening of the mother or feminine spirituality in you. He tells you that you are easily distracted so he must wear big funny hats to attract you to show how coy he is.

He almost wants you to keep coming back. Maybe next time he will tell you the deep unconscious pathways of yourself to others and the spirit world.

I agree with you both..the only thing that kind of sticks out to me is maybe the crow is trying to tell you to focus maybe?...I'm not sure...
But maybe you should try to get more in touch with your yin side. I have and it's really helped me with everything

Hey thank you guys for your replies!
The crow recently apeared in another of my dreams, but he was a bit more like a cameo than the central part. I'll take your advice and look into this yin thing. Thanks again!

I guess the crow must have felt heard and that might be saying that "we got it"

don't know accurate this is how much it'll help, but...

is there any person in your life that could possibly be equated to the crow? someone stylish and hat-wearing? perhaps someone who you think is cunning. mysterious, or someone you'd chase?

and also, being pulled away could symbolize society or your family/friends who are obviously principally against you "chasging" or getting involved with whatever/whomever the crow is.
