Maybe it's the excitement that you like in the dream? The excitement of doing something different? I've had a few of these dreams, but I'm always trying to hide, or really embarassed, but that's because I'm the shy kinda' guy.

I'm sure this has been asked here before but I'm not often in this thread so...
So most of us have had the old "OMG! I'm in the middle of [a shop/work/school/the street] and I'm naked! This is bad." I've seen this interpreted many times but my case is a bit different.
Now and then I'll have dreams where, again, I'm naked in a public place. They seem to occur a lot more often than seems normal and there is a strange twist in it.
As I'm standing there, butt-naked, in a classroom or a bank or what-have-you, I'm having a good time. It seems really fun to be there in the raw and often comes across as far as erotic.
In fact, the more people who can see me 'indecently exposing' the better. Standing naked on a stage or in an opera-house in front of thousands seems like heaven. Yeah ... I know ... weird.
Now, in real life I'm no naturist. I'm just like any other person who'd only get their stuff out for ... like ... a sauna or seeing a doctor or whatever.
SO what does this mean, both in terms of what a dream dictionary says and whether it means I'm going to be some kind of nudist or stripper when I'm older.
Many thanks,
Duck

Typically, being naked in a public setting is representative of fear of exposure. There may be a characteristic or secret, etc. that you are afraid of revealing in a certain setting. So, if you dreamed that you were naked in school, you may be harboring a secret that you do not want to reveal to those at school (and the secret may be relevant to school).
This is simply one broad interpretation. Your response always helps narrow down the interpretation.

Yeah, it could well be that. Perhaps I subconciously know that this is all a dream and it isn't real so I can just mess around doing things that are taboo to reality's society.
Perhaps the fact that I'm having a good time (rather than being embarrassed) means I have I secret I'd like to reveal. And I think you're spot on that it isn't a coincidence that it often occurs in school as there is a girl I like at school who I'd like to open up to ... and yet I'm worried about the usual "What if she says 'no'. But what if she feels the same..." etc.
This really helps. Thanks. Anyone else got a thought?
I alwaysd think ist ebst to just throw away dream dictionaries and just use a conventional one. Just try to explore the wider meanings of the various words. This is a case in point. The word naked has obvious links. It could symbolise the following
"I was very obvious about it" (my intentions were clear.. nakedly obvious)
"I felt very vulnerable" (hence naked.. my flaws were open for all to see)
but also explore the literal meaning. Naked need nbot refer to nakedness but rather sexual attractiveness.. enjoying showing some flesh and feeling sexually wanted.
so see how nsuch various themes were relevant to you at the time of the dream

There are no hard and fast rules to symbolism in dreams. Some dreams use symbols which are absolutely textbook. A bird may symbolise a bad omen. A tree may symbolise a family tree. Many simple symbolic meanings maybe totally correct. Yet do not expect symbolic meanings to repeat. If a soldier symbolises the need for discipline in one dream it may have a totally different meaning in another. Added to this symbols may have very personal meanings. Here you can use the method of free associations and try to see what links to any symbol in the dream. Simply think back to everything in your current mindset and see what connections you can make. Even simple connections can mean lots. Say if a set of traffic lights appear in your dream it may link to some incident that happened at a traffic lights the previous day. Always remember that your dream mind does not feel it necessary to translate its message to you. The need to understand the language of a dream is not strictly necessary to you. Its like a telephone. You can benefit from it without needing to know the way in which the microprocessor and communications work. But nevertheless we feel the need to study and understand dreams.

Thanks very much. I'll check them out.
For some reason when I am dreaming (and not aware that I am) being naked and in a public arena does not phase me. I seem to just act out the dream as normal. But when lucid it is like, "WTF!!! omg, SPAWN CLOTHES, shit.. not working" then I fly away.
Anyway, I have no idea what this dream meant. Thank you.

Omg, now when I read this I remember one dream from when I was about 4-5 years younger. I was at school and I had to use the bathroom. So I went outside and the toilet was one of them nasty ones you see at festivals and such. When I got out I was completly naked. I felt really embaresed so I rushed as fast as I could towards the school and then it ended, well that's all I rememberd. When I woke up I was unsure if it had happend or not![]()
You know, I really can't recall one time where I've had this dream. Ever.

Hey, that site was really useful. Thanks
