      Killing zombies, useless "partners"..

      Hello,

so I finally registered here, I hope you can help me see if there is a meaning to these CRAZY nightmares I have.
Currently I am sick, and the nightmare rate is just off the charts: 3 this night, 1 I had during a 2 hour nap which I am going to describe now:

It's very dark. An abandoned house. I am with a couple of survivors of whatever lead to this. none of them resemble people I know, yet I they have their own faces and personalities. We decide to go threw the house, secure it, so we can lock up and try to survive. I think we are only two in the beginning. We split up quickly... I manage to kill a few zombies, who don't offer any resistance: they are not so dangerous when I think of it, but it's still an extremely frightening situation for me, and the house is extremely scary; wooden house with very little light, wood cracking everywhere. It's like a post apocalyptic scenario.
The house is huge and has many floors, and I work my way up, checking room by room: there aren't that many zombies. I clearly remember killing one. Maybe 1 or 2 others. All along the way I keep yelling to the other person something like "where are you?!".
This is the introduction... I rescue a few survivors on the way and we gather on the top floor once I feel the place is secured. I am starting to plan a long stay, trying to gather anything I can find of use.
The other people... Completely useless. One commits suicide because he can't bear the situation, one girl is completely terrified and stays in a corner, and one guy who goes crazy and starts destroying the items I found for our survival. I think this is the main part of the dream/nightmare. He sets a car on fire, which is the last straw: he must be killed! After all, we're ALL going to die if he's not stopped.
So I get two other guys and we go looking for him in the house... Finally we track him down to a small bathroom (my bathroom from my real house), and I start punching him (for some reason I am always very weak when fighting in dreams). I yell at the other two to help me, but they are complete wimps too. I get angry at them, call them useless clowns. They follow me around but are no use every time there is a confrontation with the destructive guy.
Finally I smash some sort of electric razor on his head, and start stabbing his arm over and over. I see his wound getting worse and worse, but he doesn't seem to care. Blood starts coming (first time I see blood in the dream) out of his arm. Stab him some more.. That's when I wake up, quite horrified that I am trying to kill that human and angry at these two useless goons who couldn't help me. All along the dream, I was just getting frustrated over these completely useless people...

After waking up, I am just trying to understand why my brain generates these situations.

Maybe I need to specify I am absolutely not superstitious, nor religious, and I do not expect any type of premonition type explanations..!

I have more than my share of zombie armageddon dreams.
Most times im trying to rally a party of survivors.
Almost always they end up getting munched.
But thats par for the course in every zombie film I've ever watched.

I'm not a big fan of zombie movies... Haven't watched any movies lately.

After much thought, I have one theory... Luckily, this forum is anonymous.
I think it may have something to do with the way I look down upon other people. Venting my frustration over idiots.
The big scary house may represent the big company I work for. The zombies I killed are the employees. The survivors are my closest collegues. If the dream had continued I might have killed them too I think, as my anger was just growing and growing. My frustration over realising that they are useless too. In the real world, I have to smile and be nice with them, fake laughs, all a fake front; even though I consider them useless.
Maybe that constant psychological effort is getting to me...
I'm open to other ideas, I just hope there's nothing wrong with my brain (tumour?! :s )...

The nightmares continue, I can't remember last night's.

It could mean that you are in a desperate situation, and you feel not everybody is pulling their weight. You feel that some people may actually making the situation worse? I think it is more likely just a fever induced nightmare.

Tell us the dream, we are all intrested and want to help you. Plus, how bad can it be...

Oh and I have had disturbing zombie dreams as well. In mine, I KNOW that I am dreaming and just want to wake up. The only way that is possible is to answer a certain pay-phone (in the dream realm) that is guarded by the zombies. It is like they know that it is my only hope... it scares the crap out of me and I have had it several times.

Never dreamed of zombies again... Cant remember having done so before, so it's not like this is a recurring theme... The house was the scariest thing.
I'm trying to be transferred to another company now, and it might work.
I think I found major parallels with my work life (and my general view of people: stupid, useless) in this particular nightmare. Hopefully they will will stop once I manage to transfer.
The other nightmare I mention, nothing to with zombies again, but... TOO gross...
On another thread ("dark caves"), it might be the same work related theme: me trying to get out.

(I've had many many more nightmares recently, but I don't remember enough to start threads... Stuff like a huge scary hospital where I was getting hurt. I could physically feel the pain, hard to explain).
