Thread: Severed hands and an onion!

(First, the obligatory dream interpretation disclaimer)
There are as many opinions and methods on interpreting dreams as there are interpreters, remember, no stranger can really interpret your dreams, but here's my two bits:
Although every dream means something as a whole, not every single image in a dream is guaranteed to have a meaning. The severed hand, the policeman and your friend I think are important, the onion may just be a random embellishment of your psyche. (or maybe not! Sometimes small details can be important too, dream interpretation can be confusing )
Body parts are loaded symbols, hands even more so, as they can be associated with so many things. I would suggest doing free association on hands and see what comes up. Try emptying your mind and writing down whatever comes up when you think of hands.
The police man may be a symbol of your conscience or of a "higher authority" in your life. Remember though, that even though an authority has power over you, dosn't always mean it's right! It could be that the policeman represents a inhibition that is "lording over you".
Nothing I've said here is definite, mind you. Just throwing out ideas, hopefuly though they can give you a start.

I think that you may be keeping too clean of a record and you subconciously think that as soon as you do something wrong, then you'll get punished alot more severly for it... But thats not the case. If you have always had a clean record and you do something bad, then you wont be punished as much for it as normal... I dunno, I always suck at these

the cop and the guiltiness seem to follow martyn, and not you...as if he did something, and is the one guilty of it, and youve simply been caught up in all of it...how did you feel about the hand? as for what martyn was doing? and the cop?

Yes! Martyn was caught drunk driving a year ago. He didn't injure or hurt anyone though. But I suppose I should mentioned that.

Any other ideas about the onion though?

i would have to say this is a dream mostly about how you feel in regards to martyn's drunk driving excapade...killing the cop would probably most likely signify him defying authority, and so forth...what do you think about this dream, given this light to it?
