Thread: Teeth In dreams...I'm not losing them

I have read that teeth being damaged or lost, or therwise affected in dreams is a symbol of unease between yourself and your percieved gender identity.

NOT that you have major issues with your gender; that isn't what I'm saying. More of a minor thing, like someone are something you know is threatening your sense of yourself as a man or woman.

But then again, it might mean something else, more unique to you.

Artistic, are you a man? If so, "standing up for yourself" can be perceived as a dominant action, dominant being one of the main gender performances of a male identity. RCLefty is right in the unease between yourself/your perceived gender identity; you say you stand up for yourself and won't take manipulation anymore. That suggests at one time, you didn't stand up for yourself, which is a passive action, linked to the feminine gender performance. If you are male, unease at being passive (thus being perceived as a "female" or more "feminine") can cause dreams like that.

IMO, now that you've stood up for yourself, you've displayed a masculine identity (again, if you are male), so the teeth VIBRATING instead of FALLING OUT may be that you're fortifying your identity, essentially standing up for yourself.

Actually, there is a greater correlation to females, with this symbolism, if I remember correctly.

I find the replies very useful and dead on, especially with what I have been going through. All of it has to do with my identity, my voice. I'd have to explain the whole situation to show it, and it's just to exhausting to go into. But I used to NOT stand up for myself. Now I do. Doormat days are over lol.
