Was this a dream that you'd had quite some time ago? You seemed to indicate that and there wasn't really a high level of detail with the dream. Little details can go a long way to interpreting a dream by adding extra layers of symbolism that all intermesh together to form a picture. This seems like a somewhat faded version with just the big details. Dreams also tend to reflect what is going on in your mind and your life at the time of the dream, so after time has passed the meaning may no longer be relevant even to you.

For the appearance of an occult personality, such as the sorceress, much depends on whether the dream implied this was another person or if you were the sorceress. I wasn't clear from your retelling whether this was implied to be you or not. The symbolism is about the projection of power; if it is not you, then perhaps you feel there is someone who has an unfair advantage on you or is pulling the strings in your life and plotting against you. If it was you who was the sorceress, this could mean you want others to better appreciate your influence or even that there is someone who you may want to be romantically involved with you - hence, ensorcelling them.

Water in a dream is a reflection of emotion, and the sorceress written in the water seems to indicate emotional involvement of some sort. Blood usually means some sort of hurt or injury...since it's in the water, maybe you're feeling this person who is pulling your strings is hurting you emotionally? If you are the sorceress, then you've been hurt and feel you can remedy it by becoming more powerful or exerting more influence - possible in revenge or anger since the sorceress is "the worst of them all." Writing in blood is sort of an occult practice as well and seems to tie in with the sorceress imagery.

After that, the dream changes into an archetypical sort of chase dream. Chase dreams generally reflect emotions, anxieties and insecurities. There may also be a sense of emotions running amuck and reflect high stress levels where you feel everything is closing in on you or a need to escape from a person or situation.
