The Day The Earth Stood Still
This remake is long overdue. I love the original and I just hope this one does it justice. In which it should considering where we are with technology in the movie making industry. This one is definately a must see.

This looks terrible compared to the original.
Nothing's going to beat that.Let's do something that we'll regret when we're older.

I actually don't see how? In regards to looks, it's pretty clear that the current movie will look far better. (1951 movies compared to todays movies and special effects.) You serious?

The greatness that is "The Day" relied heavily on character and dialogue. Sure the ship looked like crap and Gort was lackluster to say the least, but the only way VFX could make a better movie is if they digitally added a kickass new ship to the original film.
There is also no way Keanu Reeves could do as brilliant a job as Michael Rennie as Klaatu.
Maybe I'm going into it with an air of cynicism... but I'm just abso-fucking-lutley sick of unnecessary remakes.Let's do something that we'll regret when we're older.

I'm just glad to be seeing a movie. Really, compared with some of the crap coming out, mostly really bad comedies and horror, I am waiting on another movie that I can take seriously, a "classic" sci-fi in this case.

I'm a big fan of CGI and great effects, but if that's all that a movie has going for it, I have no interest. I hope this movie is good, but as Elis D. pointed out, it has some VERY big shoes to fill. The original is fantastic and didn't need special effects.

I saw this today whlst watching Hell Boy, it looks alright but most alien films are the same style so I'll just wait an see.

I disagree, I think Keanu will do great. I have really high hopes for him in this film... just from what I've seen.

I havn't seen either, but it looks good. I saw it Dark Knight, anyone else?
By far, Mothra (in all of it's forms) is the worst kaiju of all time.
