I usually have the TV on but I rarely actually watch it. I think I asked you what Black Books was once but, I'd completely forgotten that I have actually seen that show. I like it, too. Another good one is Spoons. I wish I could catch those two more often. And, Hardware? Is that what it's called? I don't know. Good show, though. Whatever it's called.
There's only a few shows I bother watching and I usually miss those these days: The King of Queens and... I forget what else. Glenn Beck is one I try to catch but I've been missing that one too lately.

I haven't watched TV in 4 years. I have missed thousands upon thousands of fast food and car commercials, millions of sexual comments and stupid jokes, and many, many hours distraction. TV is not real..it is a frikkin propaganda machine owned by evil corporations. Turn it off.

Ahh my laptop is owned by an evil corporation too... must kill it! ... Oh wait, it's already dead.
I haven't heard of Spoons.. O-gh, I'm soooo surprised you've seen BB!!It's pretty brilliant.
grrr.Ahh my laptop is owned by an evil corporation too... must kill it! ... Oh wait, it's already dead.
There is a difference between watching mind numbing programming and choosing what you see and read via internet (which I will add is the greatest way to educate oneself without it all being filtered by networks.) Even food is corporation owned, but we have to eat silly.

Yeah, the owner who's all psychopath-like.![]()

FUCK YEAH.
i have collected over time a huge stack of new books i've bought to read and i'm very interested in all of them but my mood goes thread so many highs and lows, either way i can't focus on anything...so i have watched a lot of tv in my life. i hate it though. especially watching re-runs, that's the most awful waste of time. i've been working on the bipolar thing and i've been able to focus better so i'm going to start reading :)
Ignorant bliss is an oxymoron; but so is miserable truth.
I'd love to get engrossed in a book. Can't find a good one though.![]()
I have to say I watch a lot of TV, however I also read a LOT of books. At the moment I'm reading "Adrian Mole: The Cappucino Years". I see no harm in watching television as long as it isn't all you do, and the only stimulation you get. Also, BBC is a good news program; in our house it's always on over breakfast. The Discovery channel is awesome, particularly MythBusters.

Oh, "Man Vs Wild" is a terrific show.
For some rebellious reason I tend not to read very well known and popular authors.
My sister gave me three of her books. One Dean Koontz and the other two King. I must say I enjoyed every one of them a lot.
Intensity -thriller
Stephen King
The girl who loved Tom Gorden
The long walk
I love that book! They made a movie out of it too, which was pretty good but the book is always better. I have 25 Dean Koontz books, my favorite still probably being Strangers. Long book but a good one.
I also have a few Stephen King books and the only book I've ever read that ever gave me nightmares was Pet Cemetery. For some reason, that book scared the shit out of me.
And they made a movie out of that one too, but still not as good as the book, not by a long shot.
Im still waiting for the 3rd of the Christopher Snow books, "Ride the storm" (book after seize the night).. I wish he'd get it finished alreadyI have 25 Dean Koontz books, my favorite still probably being Strangers.![]()
Wow I can't handle horror novels anymore. That was practically the only genre I read when I was younger though. Does anyone remember those horror series, for kids... Goosebumps was one of the main ones? I loved those. Especially the ones where you had a choice at the bottom of the page how you wanted the story to continue.. if you were very lucky, the characters would survive.

haha.. I can't possibly imagine why?
<--- Don't worry Burnsy. No horses were harmed when posting this emoticon.
I can't imagine a movie ever being better. Because we can imagine. How can any director compete with our own imagination. And they made a movie out of that one too, but still not as good as the book, not by a long shot.
LOL
I think what really freaked me out about it was the evil spirit energy that he described. Like some demon of pure evil. I dunno, it's been awhile since I read it since I wasn't keen to re-read it after the nightmares finally stopped.
Actually, the only movie I can say that I liked better than the book was The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The books were long and boring, imo, with all the locational names that I could never keep straight, and all the songs and stuff that I just skipped altogether. I liked the movies much better - the extended versions though, not the theatrical ones.
I agree about the LOTR movies 100%.Legolaaaaas... uh, excuse me.
Omg burns lol. The LotR books forever altered the course of my life; but then, if everyone liked the same thing, the world would be a very, very boring place I suppose.Actually, the only movie I can say that I liked better than the book was The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
