Ugh. I hate reality shows.
Funny as they may be...I think they represent a serious flaw in our society's development, as well as in our very thought patterns.
The name itself is an oxymoron--"Reality" TV. Gives people too much of an excuse to live their lives through a television set.

hate to break it to you but reality tv has nothing to do with people 'living their lives through a television set' that's been around long before the term reality tv was even coined.

C'mon guys, you don't have to take these so-called reality show too seriously. I mean you guys should lighten up coz whatever the people behind it calls it--- its still all about entertainment! I myself enjoy seeing this celebs make a fool of themselves on cam.

That is absolutely hysterical! I remember seeing my first episode of Chips in 1977. I think it was THE first episode. I was in kindergarten. You have no idea how much I loved that show then. I think I saw every episode.

I'll tell you what... If I ever got pulled over and the cop was Eric Estrada, I would piss myself to death from laughter. Either that or I would refuse to stop doing reality checks.

As for reality shows in general, I think most of them are staged. Even if they are not scripted, they are just a bunch of histrionic numbnuts pouring their hearts out into getting attention, which involves engaging in a great deal of fake behavior. Don't assume that they are acting the way they would if there was no camera around. It's a total crock of shit no matter how you look at it. I am still very entertained by them. Disfunctional behavior has always amazed and amused me, and that is all that happens on reality shows. As entertaining as they are, they are still really sad. All of them. Even The Apprentice is very sad. The fakeness so many people engage in to put on a show for society is just depressing. I have no respect for Donald Trump now because he has made such a ridiculous cartoon character out of himself. He is also an arrogant jackass. The "celebreality" shows on VH1 are the saddest of all, but ironically the most entertaining. The Surreal Life is a bunch of footage of has-been celebrities struggling to get as much public melodramatic attention as they can, knowing things will never be like they were. It's so depressing and makes me feel kind of sorry for the absurd morons who choose to be that way, but it's so fun to watch.

Have you seen the VH1 show about disfunctional white people trying to be ghetto style rappers? That is hands down the saddest show in reality television history. Last night, some very depressed, extremely obese, self-loathing, sociopathic, pathetic white girl who obviously fakes her talking style came out of nowhere and wigged out on one of the other people on the show. She went way out of control and got overwhelmingly hostile toward him and challenged everything about his humanity, over nothing. She called him "nigger" (a white guy) repeatedly as though she has some special right to throw that very racially insulting word around. Then a guy on the show jumped in and joined her against him, over nothing. It is the most pathetic display of behavior I have ever seen on one of those shows. I want to watch every episode.
