-Documentary: Bowling for Columbine
-Crime: The Usual Suspects
-Horror: The Ring (the first one)
-War: The Patriot (the one with Mel Gibson)
-Drama: Rain Man (<---Really Good!!!!
-Action: V for Vendetta
-Animation: Mulan (the first one)
-Anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion: the End of Evangelion (but be sure to watch the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion FIRST, because you won't understand anything if you don't.
-Sci-Fi: the original star wars trilogy (though the prequels aren't bad, i still find the first trilogy the best.) (best movie from trilogy: A New Hope...)
-Fantasy: Lord of the Rings (the Fellowship of the Ring)
-Thriller: Kill Bill (especially Volume 1)
-Historic: the Last Samurai
-Western: Dances with Wolves
-War: Saving Private Ryan (of course!
-Comedy: i have no idea... i'm not too fond of comedies... most of them are really stupid... i didn't even like a monty python movie... which people often find the best of comedy... so... I'll choose stand-up comedians over comedy movies anytime
*(to be continued)*

It's funny how the prequels made things so confusing that now the DVD box calls the original film "Star Wars Episode I: A New Hope". In the early days, that movie was just called "Star Wars". That was all there was to it. There were probably ten people on Earth in 1977 who could have told you what "A New Hope" is, even though "Star Wars" had quickly become the most popular movie of all time.
As far as I'm concerned, there were only two great Star Wars movies-- Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. Return of the Jedi was fairly good, but it was a bit too mushy. I think the prequels were a disgrace and an insult.

i won't say i didn't enjoy the prequels, but they definately weren't as good as the original...
