Thread: Happy Halo 2 Day!

we were just playing it here in the dorms... 8 people! OMG its sooooooo coooooool. We arent gun'a get work done now!

It's been officially predicted that average nation-wide student grades will drop by 20 percent in the days following the release of Halo 2.

I will be having a 2 day LAN party over the weekend with some friends, 16 player Halo 2 from friday around 4 pm to like sunday morning. I haven't played the game myself, since I don't have an Xbox (DAMIT!) but I will have a controller the entire time hehehe.. no sleep for me

I think I've lost my boyfriend to that game. :'(

my friend is always babbling on about the first halo, but i never played or seen either of them...i feel so lost with video games these days. why weren't like The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario enough?

But NOTHING will compare to Half Life 2.... NOTHING!!!!!

I rarely buy games anymore, cuz I'm a cheap spender!

My neighbor already has it. I remember bringing that up in a conversation lately. It was most likely in a dream...Damn, I confuse da 2!!!

Though, I may be inclined to get Xbox live to join the other "oh, so great" Halo players who believe they have skill to show!

I agree with whoever said Half-life 2 will surpass Halo 2!@#$# But to think about it...hmm...ya, HL2's gonna kick ass. I've had nearly equal replay value for both. I even played Halo : Combat Evolved the other day cuz I love the challenge of trying to kill aliens with an Xbox controller.

theres like a million halo parties going on tomorrow and i feel sick

Mild insomnia wont help you from nodding off when you stay up for 2 days with little to no sleep, and playing a 16 player ultra graphical video game the whole time with contacts in (im planning on taking mine off after a day and switching to glasses for a few hours) will probably make your fingers blister and your eyes bleed.

Half Life 2 will be better. If it isn't I'll be sad.

Get over the whole Half-life 2 stuff, please. Unless you've honest-to-god played both Halo 1/Halo 2 and Half-life 1/2, don't start fan-boying. I'm not saying it's not going to be great, but just...relax


Anyway, I felt a little dissapointed with Halo 2...don't know why. Hmmm. The single player, the multiplayed, I don't know. It was just some little things that got me down. Not to mention the online play has become a Unreal tornument bonanza...


Still, I'm giving it a little while. Anyone want to play me, just invite VinMan11 to your game, and let the ownage begin

I have played Halo and Halo 2, while good I just think the computer could of created a game like that years before it came onto Xbox. Console players finally got a taste of the good FPS world. Half Life was very good, and even if Half Life 2 sucks the mods will be there.

I have been trying not to become a fan boy but whenever people tell me I am stupid for believing Half Life 2 will be better than Halo/Halo 2 when they haven't even played it I become frustrated. But even fanboys can be wrong...and they often are.

Or maybe I just hate playing shooting games with a controller...Anyway, we'll see this tuesday.

I've heard good things about Red Orchestra, I was just to lazy to download the whole thing.

Red orchestra is REALLY good ... now with all the infantry movement improvements, its gonna be even BETTER, and the new maps im really looking forward too, vehicles are cool, but not sure if they'll fit into the gameplay as good.

I played Battlefield 1942 for like 2 years. While not realistic, it was fun. Call of Duty was good, so I guess RO wouldn't be a bad step.

Also, Day of Defeat Source won't let me down.

well RO beats ALL of those..... RO is GREAT.

My last game addiction was Starcraft. I never liked the FPS, and even strategy is played out for me now--it's all war and violence, and violence is just boooooring. I've got all these PC games, and all I ever play is Civ3 sometimes.

Of course, I'm on Second Life several times each week . I guess that's my fix these days.

Have you tried Rome Total War? It's an amazing strategy game.

a cool strategy game is Comand and Conquer, i havnt played it in a long time. and last time i did, i really sucked cuz i was like 7 years old. man, now ive got an urge to play it...gotta find it somewhere

You've begun to remind me of my RTS-buying frenzies when I was younger. And yes, I did suck at them, and yes, I cheated until my hands bled. I'm pure now, playing Rise of Nations like it was my first (I try to forget my troubled past...).

i'm envious. i want it.

Yay! Finally got Halo 2!!!

Cinematics are absolutely gorgeous...I can't help but admire the intricate detail of MC's armor.

Gameplay style threw me off at first, cuz I was intensely used to the first game. Took a few hours to appreciate Halo 2.

Story could've been much better. When the game ended, I was thinking I was halfway through the game, and I'm like "Oh damn, you did NOT just start rolling the credits now!!!" lol Kinda pissed me off.

Multiplayer is really really fun....

Speaking of fanboys, what really gets on me nerves is the bunch of console fan boys... God, it's about the game, not the frickin console!!
