Has anyone been to one?
I'm going on friday with my friends to see Harry Potter OOTP. Heard the 'IMAX experience' is meant to be amazing.
It's pretty nifty. Just don't sit too close to the front.
I've seen a couple movies in an IMAX theater. I like the presentations they have, but it's different watching a movie. It's almost too big of a screen and it's hard to take in everything. However, I will say that there's nothing to match the sound.

I've never been too impressed by IMAX.. prolly cuz my preferred seats in any theater are toward the front, so toward the front IMAX is overkill.![]()
"A different state" is usually an idiots way of saying, "I'm gonna be cool because cool people use drugs".
Or "It's so cool to use substances that can screw around with my mind".
Anyway...
I have been to an IMAX cinema, I saw some weird film about a musician selling his soul...It was sort of like an IMAX movie and not a proper film.

Cool it please.
Anyway, IMAX is usually best when you're watching a film designed to take advantage of the 3D effects. Then, it's cool. But basic conversions aren't really as good.
Whoah I was only saying my opinion on drugs, didn't mean to harm anyone![]()

Well the screen really was massive, unlike anything i've ever seen before. It curved round aswell, but i'm not sure if this was a great deal better compared to a flat screen. I managed to get what I thought was a great seat, right at the back. As someone has mentioned earlier, you can't really have the whole screen in your view, but I don't think that matters because you only ever focus on certain parts anyway. Watching the film in general was great too. I can't say the sound surpassed anything i've experienced before, but it still sounded excellent, especially the cats in Umbridge's Office.
And then the cue for the glasses came.
The glasses were slapt on and the action immeditely jumped out of the screen. It was amazing. In the film, they were flying on the hypogriffs (I think it was them) and they just shot out the screen. You could see some people swinging in the air trying to knock out Harry! Everything after that was presented in 3D and although I didn't think it'd work (converting what was created as a normal film into 3D) it worked marvelously.
The only other place i've exerpienced something like this is in the Honey I Shrunk The Kids in Disneyland Paris.
I'd defiently go back again for future film presentations.![]()
The one I got to only shows educational things like about the sea of the sun or something. There's not one near me that shows feature films. I like IMAX, but it kind of hurts my neck from looking up. I prefer RAVE theater.
