I'm an indie rock kind of guy. I'll listen to whatever though, so long as it's good.

I had to vote other cos the poll would only let me choose one. I would have said all of the above apart from techno; the only electronic dance music I like these days is drum and base. But you have missed many genres, what about punk, alternative, reggae, metal, death metal, breakbeat, world, jungle, jazz, dancehall, blah blah blah, you know what I mean. I listen to almost everything apart from deathly trance music, house music or horrible techno.

Music is a true gift, I love that it is in my life.

But really I listen to all kinds of stuff, from Jack Johnson to System of a Down to Rage Against the Machine to Garth Brooks.

I like all sorts of music really, I don't have a specifically favoured type.

Maybe you should add an option like that? Unless other counts...

Punk and all of those other sub-genres count as rock, dont they? :/

I went ahead and voted for "rock" anyways though.

Similarly, I voted for "pop" -- although it's J-Pop and K-Pop that I loooove!

...oh, and Michael Jackson songs prior to 1990. I guess that's pop too, right?

Well if you want to call reggae, dancehall, jazz etc - Rock that is kinda funny. Also Alternative can be anything from Tori Amos to Smashing Pumpkins, to Faith No More, to The flaming Lips, to Radiohead, to Ani DiFranco etc ya see what i mean? I'd hardly call Tori Amos rock. Meh, i'm just being an advocate for musical difference in genres. Dont want everything in the same box.

Most of the things I hear are: progressive rock, jazz, classical music or tango. I dont have any preference between them but well, I had to vote so I chose rock...

coltrane is some good listening, along with the floyd... but tool and radiohead are my babies that i shant ever let go.

Like most I appreciate all forms of quality music...but too keep it simple, I'll list my favorite genres (in no particular order).


Trance (all forms...but mostly Ambient)
Underground Hip Hop / Break Beats / Turntablist
80's Retro
Classic Rock (Floyd, CCR, Fleetwood Mac)
Most forms of Electronica...

I'm a Rock n' Roll type of chick. I love all genres of it, really as long as it's a good band. I love psychadelic music such as "The Moody Blues" and "Cream" but I could go completely to the other end of the spectrum to "Type O' Negative" Or "KISS". I just don't like Rap, Pop, or Country.

Rock, pop, classical, folk, a bit of jazz, electronica, dance, celtic, you name it, i've listened to it at some point.
there is one type i cannot get into.
Country and Western, although i find myself humming along to lucie silvas, and leanne rimes...the mind boggles..

I had to go with other.. mainly just because I LOVE all kinds of rock.. classic, indie. alternative.. whatever..

but I also really like country.. I enjoy some trance/techno AND hip hop.. and i love classical.. and can even handle some opera.. i guess i like it all really.. music is just great period..
