      New School Rap/Hip-Hop= 80's Hair Metal

      I was watching Heavy: The Story of Metal the other day, and they were talking about how all the 80's hair bands came out with the "power ballad" and everyone started selling out and copying each other, and eventually, the whole 80's metal scene kinda died.

      Well I was starting to think about how rap and hip-hop today are way criticized for being unoriginal and rapping about the same stuff, and I'm starting to think rap/hip-hop is going the same way.

      Any thoughts?

      damn, i hope it dies out (of its current form anyway). The second early teens stop trying to be cool, the better. Melody has slowly been raped from pop music

      I dont mind a bit of rap/hiphop, providing its factual or intelligent.
