If the girl can out perform the "grown ups" they should just let her do her thang.

Hacker finds evidence of a 14-yr-old on the Chinese gymnastics team, Google then races to wipe out all records in its archives, along with Baidu. IOC decides to investigate finally.
This will be an interesting case of hacker and grassroots internet community vs. central internet corporation and major global power, with NBC caught in the middle and apparently taking the side of China=guilty.
If the girl can out perform the "grown ups" they should just let her do her thang.

No. It's the rules that you have to be at least 16 before you can enter the Olympics. China knew this and should be stripped of all medals I think for ignoring the rules. They're going to strip He of her medals if she is found to be under 16, but I think China should have all medals taken away and disqualified.
In the entertainment forums we've talked about this topic some, I've posted stories that had evidence she was only 14. Her birthday isn't until after November.

Just nine months before the Beijing Olympics, the Chinese government’s news agency, Xinhua, reported that gymnast He Kexin was 13, which would have made her ineligible to be on the team that won a gold medal this week.
In its report Nov. 3, Xinhua identified He as one of “10 big new stars” who made a splash at China’s Cities Games. It gave her age as 13 and reported that she beat Yang Yilin on the uneven bars at those games. In the final, “this little girl” pulled off a difficult release move on the bars known as the Li Na, named for another Chinese gymnast, Xinhua said in the report, which appeared on one of its Web sites, www.hb.xinhuanet.com

It's funny how something as trivial as a rule in a sporting event can cause so much controversy now. It's a dumb rule, but I'll agree with you. If someone does something to get themselves disqualified, they only have themself to blame. It's not like they didn't know it was against the rules.
China should not only get it's medals taken away, China should get the olympics taken away for what they have done and are still doing in Tibet. Boycott china.
157 is a prime number. The next prime is 163 and the previous prime is 151, which with 157 form a sexy prime triplet. Taking the arithmetic mean of those primes yields 157, thus it is a balanced prime.

It's not a dumb rule, actually. It makes sense, particularly in gymnastics: lighter bodies fly and flip more easily; lower center of gravity does wonders on balance beam, etc.

Actually, younger athletes in gymnastics have an unfair advantage, thats why its such a big deal, they're cheating pretty much.
China should not be allowed to host another olympic game imo.
And all of those 'golds' should be given to the real winners...half the chinese girls landed bad and made mistakes and still got 1st place...I call bullshit on the chinese...they even celebrated before they were announced as 1st place...Freaking arrogant commies.

I don't get it jeff...?
If you don't see how bad they are cheating then I suggest you watch the olympics a bit closer...alot of bad judging and alot of fishy results, to me China has cheated and should have its golds removed...the illegally obtained golds, not the ones they earned.
meh we get like a 13 yr old diver, so what's the big deal? The only issue is that with young athletes, especially in gymnastics, going through the years of strenuous training can cause them problems in bone and muscle growth when they are older. That's one reason the rule was bought in because gymnastics especially can be damaging to a young persons body if they do too much when their very young.
Lugggs and cuddles and hugs for all!!
Yeah, Jeff, you're so fucking open-minded, you support a fascist commie piece-of-shit government. Good fucking job.

Oh, sorry Jeff777, I wasn't aware that following the rules make you a hater. HOW DARE NITSUJ.
China knew what the rules were, they should pay for having a 14 year old girl on the team. It wasn't her trying to hide her age, it's the entire Chinese government, China should lose every medal they have and be disqualified and be set as an example. If you're just going to let them cheat during the entire games with a 14 year old then you might as well throw out every rule in the Olympics. Next time I'll enter the Olympics and go into the game where you ski and shoot at targets with a M203 grenade launcher. U.S.A. FTW!
its really no ones opinion whether or not a 14 year old should enter. the fact remains, in sport RULES ARE RULES. if there were no rules, it wouldn't be a sport right?
I mean, that would be like saying "who cares if so and so stepped out of the white line?" well it matters if the rules say, THOU SHALL NOT STEP OUT OF THE LINES
I don't think any of us here are gymnastics, or have any right to argue what is the proper age for this type of competition. im sure that rule is there for a reason. maybe the idea is what she is able to do now at 14 is not her true ability at 16, and 16 is closer to adulthood thus closer to her actual talent.
anyways, the real issue is China CHEEEAAAATTTEEED. and this is a SPOOORTT. freakin LOOOOSEEERRRRSSS should be ashamed. their government should be ashamed anyways
You've obviously never heard of Calvinball.
I couldn't wait for this one to be revealed there is no way in Hell that this girl is 16. More like 11.

Wait...this gives me a strange sense of Deja Vu...
Has China done something like this before?

Is this thread really about one girl that could be younger, however there is no evidence that it true except people who say hey she looks young.
Personally this is just a shameful lets bash China thread.
Seriously, alot of people do worse cheeting like taking drugs, however do you call for the country to have all the medals taking away and not to hold the games anymore? No.
At best a 14 yr old gets her medal taken away. End off. Also, you can't prove that the majourity of China team know about the cover up, even if there was a cover up.
Plus, is this thread really about Tibet. Because I for one think Tibet is better off as part of China.

The planet Earth exhibits all of these properties and therefore can be considered alive and its own single organism by the scientific definition.does the planet Earth reproduce, well no unless you count the moon.7. Reproduction: The ability to produce new organisms.

That was all great until the last little "U.S.A FTW!" part, which pretty much nullifies everything else as you just wanting them gone so USA would win. I'm sure this would go with far less controversy from you americans if USA cheated. You would say they should disqualify just the one person. But when its a country that is beating you, you have to disqualify all the medals, convenientently meaning your country will win.
Kyrie Eleison.

Well considering there was a story last year over He that was published on November 3rd stating she was 13 at the time (turned 14 sometime from then to the beginning of the games), I guess you're right, there is no evidence that she's 14.
Any country and goes against obvious rules should be disqualified. I said "U.S.A. FTW!" because I was stating I was going to win gold for them with my M203. As far as I'm concerned, the winning of the Olympics should go by medal count, and if so, U.S.A. would win.
