Thread: How will you know if I die ?

I've had this thought before. Never really did before joining DV, but the people here are so much like a family, I'd hate to think that I'd just disappear and nobody here would know what happened. But I'm not sure what the answer is.

You should just not think of the idea of being dead, enjoy the life

It may not be a bad Idea to give one of your trusted friend a list of online contacts, passwords and such to let them know.

That may not be a bad investment idea.

I just thought there is an idea for a great webpage to tackle this. One master password to store all your online contacts and they should be able to correctly know whether you die. It can be from a relative of you. You give the master password to that relative only. That password can be called as "death password".

Yeah everyone's wondered about this... ever had an online contact that you've talked to for ages then just disappears? It's got to happen sooner or later I guess.

I've thought about writing something and saving it to the desktop of my computer to, like, tell everyone where all my stories and poems and other works that will no doubt become masterpieces after I die It sounds a little morbid making plans like that, kind of like designing your own tombstone and planning the funeral music haha.

I always wondered about this too. How strange. And if we left a message telling everyone what happened ( that would be posted by a family member for us) would anyone really believe you?

I don't think it is any more morbid than having a living will. It happens to all of us. To be prepared puts a less burden on our loved ones!
I think this is a good idea. You could compose it how you would like it and update it from time to time and add this to one of your requests in you living will.

Or you could just fake your death to a few different forums and ask for any correspondence to go to your address. &#96; WOW That is a terrible thing to think!

I know when I go, since I will only have two people at my funeral I am going to pay about 50 cars to be in the procession line to look more important

The only problem i can see with this is fraudulent situations , like if i wanto fake my own web death .

I've never really thought about this before, it would be strange if someone did disapear without a trace. Maybe I should get a personal friend to join just for the occasion. Actually my death would be in the newspapers along with other deaths and birthdays and stuff, I just need someone from dreamviews to notice it.
