I checked this out, it's pretty speculative but interesting none-the-less.

Did the ancient Egyptian technology extend into mastery of the afterlife? In the Valley of the Kings, the tombs of Seti I and Tuthmosis III ... all » have been closed to the public for over a decade. Arcane funerary texts cover the walls of the tombs with a bewildering list of spells and secrets that allow the deceased to navigate the afterlife. Dr. Rick Strassman, author of "DMT: The Spirit Molecule" discusses the biochemistry of the death experience and the role of the mysterious pineal gland. Our powerful interaction with DMT is shedding new light on the ancient understanding of the "third eye" or pineal gland as the seat of consciousness. Lon Milo Duquette discusses the strange state of consciousness known as Lucid Dreaming and its unexpected relationship with the afterlife experience.

I love Egypt I'll check this out later.
Aliens built the Pyramids aswell.
Some are born to sweet delight,
Some are born to endless night.
I read a book once that said that the Egyptians used LDing and OBE's to kind of help them plan out how to build things, such as the pyramids that stand there up to this day.
there are other episodes of the magical egypt series avaiable on the video.google.com site
I disagree with the aliens thingy though... well I'm not saying your right or wrong, I'm just saying I don't think the same as you but neither I or you were there so we probably will never know for sure do we?

I studied the art of Egypt briefly, and there are many alien clues I think in the hieroglyphics.. suggesting they got some outerspace help with the pyramids.. you're correct though. I don't really know, but it's exciting for me to think this way.

I know this is an old post but i just finished watching it and its absolutely awesome!
The idea for using dreaming as a "training ground" for attaining consciousness or an enlightened state that can be maintained even through death is an idea i've been playing with for a while.
I really find it fascinating how these similar ideas come up all over the place, in Tibetan dream yoga and Carlos Castanada.
Thanks for posting this!!!That's right. Thats how excited i am right now. I needed a dancing banana to express it for me. hehe.
Funny how Egypt, Aliens, what comes after death and DMT are all interrelated and associated.
When I did Yopo seeds, which are rich in 3 variaties of DMT, recently I saw alot of ''People"". These are experienced by pretty much everyone that has a DMT-experience and they are always interpretted as the Elves, '" Tykes", Aliens, Spirits, ancestors..etc
I personally experienced them as people/spirits/presences.
Personally I think all of these mystical phenomena are actually DMT-experiences:
-Alien abductions; Bright light, ''Aliens'', being in a strange enviroment.
-Near Death experiences; Bright light (''The light'', Angels/Spirits/Guides, being in a Dark Tunnel.
-Nightly Dreams; ''Light in the darkness'', DreamCharacters, being in a strange enviroment.
-Schizophrenia; Continuous hallucinations of "people", being in another world/reality
I wouldn't be the least bit suprised to learn that the Egyptians knew what DMT was too. Is there anysuch knowledge of the Egyptians that they used DMT-bearing plants for Divination?
If so that could well explain their Afterlife-cultus; DMT gives a mightily impressive insight into what may easily, logically be interpretted as the afterlife.

not to overestimate the Value of our Concrete Knowledge;"Common sense"/Rationality,
for doing so would make us Blind for the unimaginable, unparalleled Capacity of and Wisdom contained within our Felt Knowledge;Subconscious Intuition.
I wanted to bump up this one after recently going to an exhibition of ancient Egyptian artifacts from the Louvre. After seeing this documentary, i was seeing evidence of what he was saying EVERYWHERE. There are so many pictures of the "sun" between the two eyes, as the third eye is so often placed. And after reading information there, i'm so sure that what they were worshipping wasn't the sun, but their consciousness. Enlightenment is often described as a light or flame, and so its no surprise if they used this common symbol for the sun as their consciousness.
What i also found interesting, one of the gods is a woman who basically keeps reality solid. She stops things from melting away or changing. She is characterised by a feather on her head. The same feather shape that is so commonly drawn as a part of the eye. This sounds to me like they must have practiced lucid dreaming. How else would they get ideas that their reality was being held together by something, unless they had experienced the melting and changing effects of dreams.
And then when you see that same figure with the eye, it makes me think that they are describing the way that we view the world, through this persception of things being held together, to see that things are solid.
I really hope this makes sense to someone, its so hard to describe what i'm talking about![]()
