How do you feel about the Police. Are they the "Enemy" to you? Or are they your "Friends"? Are you afraid of them in a sence of always having to watch over your sholder because you feel like a "Target"?

Constantly I've been stopped, pulled over, checked, singled out, called apon to face a police man or woman. I cant see how to get through to these people. Are they humans when they wear the uniform? Do they really listen to you? Do they care? Are they only caring about their paychecks or meeting their quota for the day and your just the rock for them to step on to reach it. Even they've tried to ask my girl out when my back is turned during an investigation. And she has told me that cops would call her when she was younger and underage and them knowing that would try to meet with her. I'm growing sick of this corruption!

I know that I'm not the only one. This has to be discussed and found out a way to deal with.

Please comment your thoughts or expirences.

      To protect and to serve...please.

From my own perspective and experience. There are few cops who are not in this line of work for a power trip.

To tailgate and harass is more like it.
Most evident in traffic violations. Think about it. Our judicial system is 'Innocent until proven guilty.' That does not apply to traffic law. You are guilty until proven otherwise. By other wise, what I am referring to for example, what are your chances in a court of law the honorary judge taking your side over that of a policeman?

I respect the role of the police officer. I don't want to tarnish their role. I am generalizing a bit. But this is what I have seen as a whole.

In more than one case, me included I have seen that the officer would use false data as their record of an incident. Fabricating small things to put into their report just in order to cover their ass in the case it dies go to court.
In addition. Quotas. What the hell way to run a system is that????

There is something that makes them better than us becuase they have more knowledge of the laws and because they know how to play the game that they wont get in trouble.

Also what do you all think of the fines. To me its like out of nowhere they point you out and they say I'm going to right on this paper that you owe this much money for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. And then your credit is affected and criminal history is started and acumulates. The system that they've put in place seems to me that their immune to it.

And what I hate is that you cant treat them like a human that they are but you have to look at them as if they were a higher power. If not they will not show mercy to you and can even come up with offences that you didn't comit to punish you for not showing respect.

Police are mean because they have to be. Will you listen to somebody who has a gun and commands at you, or will you listen to somebody who asks nicely and says please?

I don't like them at all. You always find crooked cops and other cops on the take. They abuse their authority and they are not really at all trying to protect and server the people. I've seen a Cop throw a lady to the grown before and put his knee in her back just because she tried to run. This guy was much stronger than her and yet he used excessive force on her.

Guys, grow up. You're lucky that America enforces law as much as it does, I mean look at other countries like Russia and Mexico, their police force just doesn't care most of the time.

So you mean to tell me you condone physical force on a female? What would you do if a cop threw your own Mother to the ground and punched her in the eye? Regardless if she runs no man no matter what type of authority he has, has the right to throw a woman to the ground, knee her in the back and black her eye. You don't have no type of sympathy for the female in a situation like that? What are you some kind of freaking cyborg?

If the female isn't doing anything illegal and isn't trying to evade the cop in any way then I don't think the cop has any reason to use force on her, however, like you said, if she's running from him then whatever, I have no sympathy for people like that.

I suggest you read this article so you can see exactly what you are defending. It states how a Peabody police officer has been suspended from the force after he was charged with beating and critically injuring his mother. Who did nothing.

Police are soppost to make you feel safe and that they are watching over you, not make you fear them and be seen as their prey.

I drive an old blue crown victoria that I think used to belong to a police officer or a detective. Because it looks like there used to be a CB radio inside and there is still an unusual antenna (not the radio antenna) sticking out from the back. But just with that when I'm driving hardly anyone would pass me because they would think that I'm a undercover cop looking for fish, until they get close enough to see through the windows that I'm just a regular guy. It makes me sick that I can expirience the fear that the police have imposed on the lives of the people. But the cops know I'm not one of them and they pull me over for the hell of tormenting me and adding to my criminal profile.

WTF? So let's just say 50 people in Mother Russia formed in a straight line. One has to go take a major dump, So he steps out of line, you're telling me that guy is going to get his face smashed back into line, just because Russian Police officers doesn't want to deal with people's bullshit? How does a person relieve himself then? Does it make a difference on what type of line he's in? What if the guy is in the soup line, does the same rules apply?

so a woman can run from the cops but a man can't? wow. i'd really like to live in that world.

or should the cops just ask the woman nicely and hope she complies? unfortunately we live in a world where if they did that people (regardless of their sex) would take advantage of it.

      ---

and on the topic of police corruption... report it if they're corrupt... they are not above the law.

I think all of you are taking the exception and making it the rule. Corrupt cops are NOT commonplace. I know a few personally, they are all great people. Out of my own experience, as well as all of theirs, I have not heard of a single case of a police officer beating someone who didn't do anything, etc.

As for Ne-yo's example, you don't run from the cops if you don't have any reason to. If you run, they will assume you have a reason to run from them and will stop you.

As for respecting manners more than guns, that's bullshit. If someone asks me nicely to do something I don't particularly want to, I might do it. If someone puts a gun in my face and tells me to, I'll do it without a second thought. Because I don't want to die.
Not saying that's acceptable in nearly any situation, but still.

Corruption will not destroy a corrupter unless for a fortunate reason there is a pure one in the system with the power to put an end to it. Unfortunately the odds of that is not great. I'm sorry to say this but less than 50/50 chance. Everyone is watching out for everyone. Well depending on the city i guess.

Once again, taking the exception and making it the rule. "Unless there is a pure one in the system." There might be a corrupt cop or official here or there, but it's been like that since governments first appeared. I doubt there is anything to back up that statistic you pulled out of your hat.

You want me to back up something that I said with something that someone else said that got someone else to dig up info on other people who in turn give in whatever information that is suitleble to go public. In other words you want proof from someone who could be as wrong as me but made a stupid report about it making him right in turns proofs me right.

Try to write more legibly, I couldn't understand a word of that. Something about how the "corruption of the system" meaning if you file a report you're right, or something.
I asked you if you can back up your statistic ("less than 50/50 chance") with actual fact. As in, HALF OF THE WORLD'S POLICE FORCE IS CORRUPT.

theres thousands and thousands of police officers around the world. You hear about them being crooked how often? I'd say the amount of crooked coppers is about the same percentage as the amount of crooked civilians.

You don't mess around with the cops. You don't run. They have no choice but to stop you. Its not an easy job....

Ok here we go, what you are asking me is for another source for me to provide in order for you to see the statistics on how much corruption is going on. Got it ok, when I get this information it would be passed on so many times from person to person from source to source that the last person who edits this report will get to make it the way he wants it and we view it just like a news caster gets to make his report of the day the way he wants his audience to view it.

How do we now that this is the right infromation that the police reports have provided the PUBLIC. If you know the rules of the game, you will know what to hide and what to show.

In other words even if i give you a statistic I myself wouldn't trust it because of the corruption that follows along in making this statistic.

And if it makes you happy, yes I did pull the 50/50 out of the hat. Now dont go having a heart attack from all the gittiness.

Plus, I never said the world.

      me?"

      What I've found
      What I've known
Never shined to me what I've shown
      Never be
      Never free
I wish to see what might have been...

Cops protect the states economical gain and most of the time don't even know it.

Allot of the time they are diong their job as the "book" states.

If they pick on you it's cause their trained to.

Putting your knee in a womans back and her face on the ground is not cool and is excessive force theere are better ways to detain someone, especially woman.

And yes unfortunately, cops are necessary any society needs them.

To say all cops are corrupt is to say all humanity is corrupt.
