Anyone read about that potential new cuban missle crisis?

As we know, bush wants to put a missle defense system in the czech republic, and russia says the moment those missiles are installed we will send planes to cuba with nuclear missles.

I think the world needs a good nuclear war. And here's why:

1) it would reduce population to more managable levels
2) it would finally convince most humans that government really is a bad thing afterall
3) we would be able to test the nuclear winter hypothesis
4) it would increase private funding in cancer research
5) it would put a stop to global warming
6) mushroom clouds are pretty
7) it would inspire Hollywood for the next hundred years

Unbelievable but true. And not at all demeaning to the people that lost their lives in the conflict.

Before this blows out of proportion. Dont believe everything the mass media says which is biased against russia in general. Here are some facts:South ossetia and Abkhazia was not part of Georgia before Stalin annexed the region.Georgia claimed the territories as their own, against the will of the locals and Russia of course.NATO in a bid to piss russia off and get Georgia on good terms, recognized it as georgian territory when it never actually was in reality.Most citizen in those regions are Ethnic Russians or have russian citizenship and are close to Russia in general. Georgian troops allegedly have slaughtered many of them.

Apparently like 90% of South Ossetia (The territory in question) are Pro-Russian. LOL Georgia is fighting an uphill battle, the people of the territory in question are against remaining with Georgia and even now Ossetians are taking arms against the Georgian army or so i have heard. Rumours of Georgian Ethnic cleansing are abound too.When Russia's 58th Army arrives Georgia will be history.I hope Russia makes an example of Georgia so that Azerbaijan will think twice before letting the Americans use their territory as a launching pad to engage in agression with its neighbours (Iran specifically)

Ossetia would be a cool name for a newly founded sovereign state.

Of course no one would ever want to visit because it's between Georgia and Russia.

By the way how did this happen? I heard Russia had some Warplanes in Georgian Airspace and Georgia launched a Missle Attack on them. If that's true then i have no doubt the US put Georgia up to it(America has been training Georgias military and been involved with them).Im a bit foggy on the details but i think Russia legally can use Georgian Airspace like the American use European Airspace on their air bases in Europe. The Russians have some sort of Peacekeeping force from the 90's over there.

Yeah I really dont think Georgia stands a chance. I know they say size doesnt matter and all... but damn, you can fit at least a thousand Georgias into Russia, I mean Russia can literally swollow them whole!!!

But I do know that we (the US) have a base (AF, I think) located in Georgia somewhere... soo that cant be good.

I hate war, and this is terrible. But Georgia is clearly at fault for attacking South Ossetia first, giving Russia a reason to attack. I doubt the reason Russia is involved though is to protect their people in South Ossetia, I think its just an excuse so they can gain control of the oil pipeline that goes through Georgia and to increase their influence. Georgia thinks they can regain their lost territory because they will be backed by Nato, and they hope that Russia will back down, but I think Russia will keep fighting. So in the end, their both at fault. The people in Russia and Georgia should revolt against their imperialist governments.

Neither side is right. Putin and his puppet Medvedev just want more territory (or possibly just friendly territory, although I doubt it) in the region, and they are willing to wage war against a far smaller, far weaker nation in order to get it. Georgia is trying to prevent South Ossetia's secession, despite the will of most of its people to leave. The same thing happened with the western region of Abkhazia, which Georgia still doesn't recognize as independent, even though it is basically autonomous. Georgia has also been shelling the South Ossetian capital, Tshkinvali, causing many civilian casualties. This war is going to be terrible for all parties involved.

Funny how the UN hasn't done shit. Typical for all the spectator-nations in the UN. Doesn't the UN exist to stop shit like this? I forsee words and no action.

Well I'm Russian and I'm really disappointed in this. Bunch of uncivilized losers.
