      Seduction

I need DVs helping e-hand here

I need to know what the name is for the archetypal situation of consciously allowing oneself to be seduced.

This can take any form. It could be deceiving yourself into believing a certain faith, it could be letting someone be your guide even though you are suspicious of them. You know what I mean, the willingness to be seduced.

It seems to me like it's one of the most twisted positions a soul can be in. You run many risks, but at the same time you have to weigh that up with your own needs as a human to be lead or comforted. Everyone who attempts to 'seduce' you with emotional comfort is actually a potential threat.

The problem is, if this is indulged in too much then it leads to horrible betrayal and deception, but if it is indulged in too little then groups of people lose their trust for each other and we cannot co-operate.

What is the ideal position to be in? From here it doesn't even look like a thing that you can deduce rationally. It's an insult to our very existence as social beings. It's sickening.

Submissiveness. If the submissiveness involves sucking up to, defending, and being extremely loyal to a known enemy, like the person's kidnapper, it is Stockholm Syndrome.

Don't jump to far fetched conclusions, but never totally trust anybody.

Either 'submissiveness', as UM stated, or 'malleability'. Submissiveness is more that you just allow yourself to be dominated or lead - which might be exactly what you're looking for, but 'malleability' is, I believe, on more of an unconscious level. It means you're just easy, whether you want to be or not. Children, though not always submissive, per se, are often malleable.
