Im an atheist and i've come up with my own set of morals, I dont need christians telling me whats right or wrong and i dont need atheists doing it to.
The Agnostic Atheism Wager was written in response to Pascal's Wager.
It states:
Whether or not you believe in God, you should live your life with love, kindness, compassion, mercy and tolerance while trying to make the world a better place. If there is no God, you have lost nothing and will have made a positive impact on those around you. If there is a benevolent God reviewing your life, you will be judged on your actions and not just on your ability to blindly believe when there is a significant lack of evidence of his/her existence.

Some are born to sweet deleight
Some are born to endless night

That's kind of a bad argument for those claiming lack of faith to use, considering it assumes objective morality exists.
I guess you could reword it as "Live your life doing what you think is good, and if you die and a God does exist, maybe he'll have similar morals as you".
One thing is certain: People who claim that the Bible and the Quran are written by God will go straight to Hell for implying that God would write such unlettered trash. I'd be seriously pissed at them if I was God.
This quote reminds me of the song Dear God by XTC:
Dear God, don't know if you noticed
but your name is on a lot of quotes in this book,
and us crazy humans wrote it, you should take a look
and all the people that you made in your image
still believing that junk is true
Well I know it ain't, and so do you,
dear God, I don't believe in you

I like the idea, but it's more inspired by genetic and social psychology than anything.
I'd much rather be a wanna-be solipsist and assume that I've made all this up so it really doesn't matter. Or be hindu and assume that everything is one perspective of god meaning I'm god anyways so again it doesn't really matter. Or just go to sleep, which is what I intend to do in a second.CHeers!

As far as I can see the idea of doing as much good as you can in the world makes perfect sense in human terms, and we are humans.

I am not an atheist for the very reason that this "god" character is supposedly not an atheist.
*precisely* the same reason.![]()
