Christians allways say that god is perfect in any way. As far as I konw the bible also says that. However, if god is ultimately perfect and has allways been perfect, why would he have to create the world? He was perfect, timelessly perfect. Then why did he feel he had to create the world? A perfect being has no need for change.

Christians plz do explain why oh why god can be ultimately perfect in two different states of being.

As a former christian, i think i can help you out.

You see, god is like a toddler. He was sick of sitting around with nothing to do. So he created humans (those dinosour bones from millions of years ago are just a figment of your imagination).

He was so bored that he decided to play cat and mouse games with us by giving us free will. He enjoys sending the obedient to heaven and the bad to hell. Our lives are like a game to him, a testing game.

God is like a todler because he is selfish. He wants everyone to look at him and glorify him. Maybe, since god is a todler, we should potty train him.

Oh, ya, god is not perfect. He changes from a vengful, judgmental god in the Old Testament to a loving, caring god in the new testament. That, right there defies perfection

Im sure some smirky christian will try to prove me wrong

Well in my opinion It seems that perfection does not belong to God. For we say a thing is perfect if it is completely made. But it does not befit God to be made. Therefore He is doesn't fall into any perfect category. However For that which is not made is improperly called perfect. Nevertheless because created things are then called perfect, when from potentiality they are brought into actuality, this word "perfect" signifies whatever is not wanting in actuality, whether this be by way of perfection or not.
Also God is the first beginning of things. But the beginnings of things seem to be imperfect, as seed is the beginning of animal and vegetable life. Therefore God is imperfect.

Further, God's essence is existence. But existence seems most imperfect, since it is most universal and receptive of all modification. Therefore God is imperfect. Just my thought on it.

That's it! That's all true, I think, but only because Christians and everyone else misunderstands the concept of God. I'm not Christian but I think God is perfect, it's just everything we've ever been told, and therefore think, about God isn't true, because how the hell would some sunday school teacher know?! What they've told us is imperfect.

Thank you. Are you a christian? You just contradicted the bible.

My point is the bible is flawed, and eighter many things christians use from it are flawed or they do not follow the bible porperly.

I think christians are hypocritical for saying they follow the bible, yet are often not even living by it every letter. If you are just living by some parts of the bible, why live by the bible at all?

      -

Allso I would like to point out the bible has some parts in it where god eighter has a vengence-problem or is just plain pissed off (and destroys a few towns, all-loving). Such characteristics do not fit a 'perfect' being.
