I like lennox's accent but he uses nothing but rhetoric and has absolutely nothing to back his beliefs up by.
I disagree with anyone who uses the term "ultimate truth" anyway

I just wanted to make 2 responses to this debate.
John Lennox says two of the dumbest, most ignorant, stupid statements I have ever heard in the history of religious apologetics (and this is quite a feat considering how many D'Souza debates I've watched), and worst of all, he got touted as being the winner of the debate!
(both are paraphrasing)
I mean seriously, how stupid is that? Like Dawkins replies in the debate, you had a 50% chance there and the bible got it right, woop-de-doo. Lennox responds with "at least it got it right" in which the crowd cheers. The bible says in the beginning there was God and he created the universe. Scientists only discovered that the universe had a beginning relatively recently. If scientists would pay more attention to the bible when doing their science then they would come up with the right answers sooner.
What Dawkins didn't have time to say was, how about all the completely WRONG science in the bible? How about David putting wood with spots in front of his herd while they mated so they would have spotted offspring? How about the sun standing still for Joshua? How about the "firmament" that has never been above us? The bible is chocked full of scientific errors made by 1st century people and Lennox has the ignorant gall to claim scientific supremecy of the bible because it says the universe was created? Of course it says the universe was created! What kind of creation myth has a universe that was already there???? What good would the mythical god character be if he AND the universe were eternal?

I honestly don't think I need to make a comment about that inane statement. So his god created man while man created the other gods? Damn, that's convenient. Good thing he had the amazing foresight from birth to tell which one was the creator and which were the created (and just happened to be brought up in the religion with the creator god, lucky dog!)Of course I don't believe in Thor or Zeus, those were created gods!
One comment about the debate itself, in the beginning the host (which this debate is hosted by a Christian organization) says that due to Christian hospitality, Dawkins would get the first and last word. Well then the slimeballs made the "debate" format so that Dawkins couldn't respond to any of Lennox's points. The format was 1) read excerpt from God Delusion, 2) Dawkins fleshes out point of excerpt, 3) Lennox responds, 4) move on to next excerpt. And there is no way they didn't know that this was a completely unfair format, Christian hospitality my ass
