Very interesting and thought provoking, all opinions wanted to whether this could be possible or not...

The only possibility this offers is maybe now we have to ask "how did life start on Mars?" Which to me is almost exactly the same question as "...on Earth?"

I know, nobody knows how life started in the first place, life can't be created without life.

Lol, some people believed a long time ago maggots just appeared on rotting meat, so a scientist put rotting meat in a closed jar and a piece in the open jar, the maggots where found only in the open one. So STFU Chares Darwin.

I don't think scientists really accept that bacteria ever came from mars anymore, if you look around, you'll find that they found the life in those astroids came about by non organic means.
Currently training to master WILD.
LDs: 300+ probably

Umm... yeah... That's called 'spontaneous generation'. fully formed complex organisms spawning from nothing. And as you've said, it has been disproven.
We're talking about something called 'Abiogenesis': life (very, VERY simple forms of life, not nearly as complex as bacteria) coming from organic materials (such as simple fats and stuff)
This does surprise me (and not in a good way), because this is something you get taught in one of the first lessons, if not the first lesson of biology when it comes to evolution. So yeah... If you don't even know the difference between this and spontaneous generation, then maybe you should learn something about abiogenesis and evolution...
So here, I'll make it easy for you: Watch these 2 vids about abiogenesis, especially the first one (which will take up only 10 minutes of your life and has cool music too!). THEN you may come back and diss Darwin (who, by the way, had NOTHING to do with abiogenesis, so if you do choose to do so, you'll get pwned anyways):

Also: I've heard somewhere that abiogenesis could've happened in ice, or when icewater melted or something like that. Or some kind of recent scientific study at a university (was it chicago?) showed that. Has anyone got any info on this?

although abiogenesis may not be correct it is still the best theory( see theory) we have for how life came from inorganic matter. I mean inorganic molecules form into double helix shapes and some have the ability to replicate when in space. So it's not impossibility far fetches in my opinion. I mean ok maybe it's not exactly correct, but theories change as new evidence comes about and old evidence is proven to be incorrect. I can not see how it is anymore "crap" then the religious believe that A supreme being created everything( i assume this being was formed from abiogenesis but on an even greater scale, not just organic matter becoming life but the absence of matter becoming the most complex sentience in existence, with the power to create matter and bend all to it's will psychically). At the same time abiogenesis does not answer the question of where inorganic matter originated.
No matter how many questions are answered by science God can never be disproven, so this argument will never end. I suppose us non believers will have to hope God is merciful to us( although no mercy is giving to the heretic or unbeliever, so... we're stuffed) and those who do believe in God and are wrong will die and never have to leave the safety net and admit they were wrong.( rather interesting don't you think).

Lugggs and cuddles and hugs for all!!

It's not that theory's job to.

Seis is correct. Abiogenesis covers the emergence of life (and very simple forms of that), not its diversification. After that, it is Evolution's job.

No I don't think modern life originated from Mars. After watching that video I'm much more open to the idea of previous life existing on Mars though.
I live in your philosophy and religion forums.

That rock was faked, btw.
