      Sacrifice

This is a very ignorant question; don't remind me.

      But; I'm interested, nonetheless.

Where is the sacrifice in knowing you will be and being resurrected again after three days.

-and then when you die spending the time in heaven.
      Kyrie Eleison.

I posed that same question during bible study (don't ask.. ), and they said that he didn't know that he was going to be resurrected. So, it was a sacrifice in that sense. I'm still confused about why it's a big deal that god sent down his son to die when in actuality he came back in one piece...

Time in heaven? - is there such a thing there.

Maybe the sacrifice was having to leave heaven to return the world of noise & pain. Who would want to choose that after being there?
sacrifice eternal bliss to help fellow man.

I have an off-topic counter-question: why do you place so many unneeded new empty lines into your posts?

That's a pretty fail sacrifice; considering the nature of it.

You have missed the most important point of the sacrafice:

Jesus spent 3 days EARTH TIME in hell.

But hell's timescale has nothing to do with ours,

Jesus could have spent an eternity in hell as far as you know.

It doesn't, but it is a reasonable point.

I suppose if you are taking the bible without interpretation, then yes, there is a big fault there.

For a non-christian, you sure do have a lot of questions about Christ.

And thats a bad thing? God Forbid people actually try to understand each other's view points!

Oh No! That would be horrible! Think of how the world would be if people actually understood how the other thought!
“There’s an economic concept known as a Positional Good in which an object is only valued by the possessor because its not possessed by others. The term was coined in 1976 by economist Fred Hirsch to replace the more colloquial but less precise ‘neener-neener’.”

I discussed this on another thread. His sacrifice wasn't his death, and it wasn't His physical torture. From the time He knelt in Gethsamane, where He bled from every pore, to His death on the cross, He suffered for all the sin in the world. From the tinniest transgression to the deepest sin, He took the full weight of it all, Else, all the world would be damned. To us His pain was incomprehensible. I don't know if we'll ever fully understand His true sacrifice for us.

I don't know really. We found common ground pretty soon and were able to progress very well. Probably because we already knew that we were both pretty cool guys since we knew all that good music in the music thread.

Close. Well actually I went willingly with a group of Christians to a trip to Florida about 3 years ago. Back then, I was trying to join an organized religion.

      My, how I've changed.

No you haven't, Mes, no one has. No one ever changes their mind about religion and that's why it's completely useless to even talk about it.
