Thread: What really is EVP?

I think sometimes it is just our minds telling us that there is a voice there because that's what we want to hear, but I do think that some EVP's are legit. Also, I doubt that any EVP you see on Youtube is trustworthy.

EVP, is definitely not R/S material. Try BD.

Auditory pareidolia is responsible.

I have experienced the phenomena myself. In most cases where you are presented with some audio that appears to say something, it is already said what these words would be. Automatically you try to listen for those exact words, and you will hear it! Now, to show that is it false, someone else says that it the audio says something completetly different, and these words can be heard too.

Our brain is hard-wired to seeing patterns, even if their might not be any, especially with faces, as we have a dedicated part of the brain used to face recognition.

Now, if you don't see the pattern resembling a dog, simply by saying dog, you see it.

I like hearing that "Get out of my house" EVP from white noise, which was on youtube before it was on white noise. Pretty fuckin creepy!

Are there any real EVP recordings? I mean I was thinking the real ones are like static crap. Which basically is what the above poster was talking about. You hear what your brain wants to hear.

Fortunately there is no real evidence for ghosts or spirits. I'm pretty happy about that because ghosts scare the shit outta me.

I meant movies and other forms of entertainment that have ghosts in them creep me out. The concept scares me. I do not actually live my life scared that I will actually see a ghost.

So Hollywood scares you. Obviously if ghosts were real, they would be completly different then how Hollywood teach...rofl@them being able to do shit to you but you go through them!!!!!
