honestly, i think the world would be a much better and more peaceful place. it does depend though, if we kept our morality or not

I think it all depends... We might lose all of our morals and people would do things that they otherwise would not (ex. killing) because that fear of the consequences of what would happen would be gone...

However... religious radicals aka. terrorists would also cease to have to prove a point to their god and so on...

Religion starts many wars (the crusades and many other fights for "Holy land") all these issues can be avoided if there was no religion

Being a firm believer in christianity i think that there is a point to religion. it is i time for people to get together and worship their common intrests, it provides a solid ground structure for a society to grow on, it is a area of my life that i can get things off my shoulders, and it makes me feel good...

there is defenately a point to religion. some say that "religion is mere wishfullfilment" (i think that was karl marx or sigmund freud), but without religion we wouldn't have any more morals than monkeys.

Now, what would happen to those people who rely on religeon to keep them going? Would they be able to adapt to having nothing to support them or something else to support them?

Also, would it be nessasarily be good for the "terrorist counties" to lose religion? It may feul some attacks but it could be preventing many others at the same time.

well they wouldn't need to adapt at all because you said we would have no recollection of religion and i'm assuming that means we have no recollections of the events that it were caused by religion either. that would include habits etc.

i don't think it would fuel any attacks at all because the reason they kill mostly because of their religion and all the other reasons are secondary to their religion, but are still influenced greatly by it.

all in all, i think if we kept morals the world would defenately be better off without religion. period.

All religions are the same. So what's the problem? Human being has invented them and what to expect? A change for better by some divine intervention of a non existing god? Ridiculous.

Unfortunately, religion would just start up again after a while, if the humans themselves haven't changed. It's just in our nature.

The world would be a better place if we could remove religious extremists. There is not much to choose between extreme Islam and extreme Christianity both stink imo!

Untill we solve alot of problems, like way, hunger and sickness -and maybe we even would have to cure death- maybe then, and if we educate people properly about evolution and the big bang theory and such, maybe only then we will not need religious people.

Best invention of the 20th century still is the athiest I think. Making stuff up is in our nature. Bad, useless, outdated nature.

As much as I would love to think that humanity could now exist without religion, I know that it is impossible. If religion were to just dissapear, there would be mass confusion and depression. For many poor countries and poor individuals, relgion is thier only source of hope. Religion is here forever most likley...
