Thread: Who gives a f**** about fundies?

Because despite all that they still manage to rally a following of more deluded believers that fight for their beliefs in such a way that holds our world back from advancing. If we were to just simply not care, their following would be much larger and we'd go straight back to the dark ages.

Unless you believe there's some kind of dumbness gene permeating the American population, you have to acknowledge that Europe didn't automatically become as secular as it is. The only thing permeating America is a dumbness meme and you're not exactly helping by ignoring it.

I'm talking speicifically about all this shit over the internet.

I see your point, but why make a big deal out of it?

In other words, is your solution to simply go to people and tell them they're wrong and expect that to have any effect?

I don't have that kind of problem because I'm a European. Debating is fun. People make a big deal out of it because religion has a profoundly negative effect on society.

Besides what difference does it make, most Christians here at DV's including myself would concede that evolution holds true to a certain degree.

Debate is exactly what changed my mind. I debated my ass off with atheists and agnostics I knew when I was a Christian. After a while, I was like, "Holy shit. They are right."

They actually don't bother me one way or the other. I think a lot of their views are inconsistent, contridictory and wrong but that's them. I don't play favorites, I'll argue it up with them the same way that I'll argue it up with an Atheist.
