You thought they were rare? My IRC discussion

I was drunk. I preached peace. Now lets look at @eagle.

      I am Anonymous BTW.

He told me I was raised as a liberal. For saying that Jesus was all about peace and forgiveness. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!!!!! I mean, when I watch the crazy christian vids, and surf fstdt.net. I figure that it's the extreme. But WTF????

(disclaimer, having doubts happens to everybody, especially when drinking. I do not doubt my atheism when sober lol)

      You decide.

By Science! That man is a disgrace to Eagles everywhere!

I wish I knew what this man's beliefs were exactly. Does he think we should go to war to "spread the gospel"?

God forbid you share good thoughts with people, right?

I'm curious as to why this person who seems to delight in calling others' beliefs "hogwash" wasn't interested in responding to this comment, seeing as it concerns something he should be taking into consideration.

As far as I can tell Jesus was about forgiveness and peace. But that's just what I think he was about. It's my interpretation. But it's one I make with consideration to the fact that I could have totally misjudged him.

Anyone who pretends to know concretely "exactly who Jesus was" really about has larger issues than just irelevantly labeling someone as liberal.

This is why I don't go to church anymore. There's far too much bickering and judging going on about who's beliefs are "better" or more "correct". You would think people waste enough energy and air arguing about other religions, let alone arguing about differences within their own.
      • Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
      • And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Besides, Jesus only judged those who felt they were above judgement. He judged tax-collectors and clergy, because they were corrupt and hypocritical. I'm pretty sure he didn't go around judging believers or his own followers saying, "You don't know who I really am, so you're a liberal, and therefore wrong". I'm sorry, but a Christian chatroom could be used for a lot better things than tossing around empty political labels around.

That guy, and people like him, should try getting upset about something that really matters for a change, instead of making themselves part of a problem, or making mountains out of molehills. Or once, JUST ONCE, they could try DOING something productive about a problem instead of whining or name-calling.

That would be nice; Jesus would be proud of that, I'm fairly certain.

People take the words of Paul, John etc... as more important than the actions of Jesus.

      That is their fault.
"That's the effect of living backwards, it always makes one a little giddy at first--""Living backwards!" "I never heard of such a thing!" "--but there's one great advantage in it, that one's memory works both ways." "I'm sure MINE only works one way." Alice remarked. "I can't remember things before they happen." "it's a poor sort of memory that only works backwards,"
