      Barely awake math

I woke up at about 3 in the morning (funny story, a dream character actually got mad at me and woke me up) and I decided to do some math questions. I would take two random numbers, say 12 and 17, and multiply them together. Without even thinking, I knew it was 204. I did this a couple of times and got it right each time, but each time I got slower. I can't do this in waking life. Why is it that I'm better at math when my logic centre is turned off, and is anyone else like this?

This may have been exactly as it was. Or the answers may have been wrong in your answers and you didn't notice.
