Thread: ...And I wasn't imagining it!

For you guys to be able to respond in a way that's not just like, um, yeah, that's anoying, how about you guys share when you swear you heard something, and you didn't, or you did hear something, and say what it was. It doesn't matter if they are a sentence long, or a paragraph long, just share.

I hate to be rude but your post left little to respond to. Although I have had freaky things happen at night like seeing shadow people of hearing flute playing. I'm glad it wasn't a real mouse on you!

Once when I was maybe 11 I couldn't sleep one night, and I heard the tv downstairs turn on, I was so scared I just stayed in bed until maybe ten minutes later it turned off, I ran downstairs to tell my parents and they told me it was just a nightmare but I knew I was awake.
Turns out that the VCR had been recording something, and when it reached the end if the tape the tv turned on to rewind the tape. I got to say "I told you so," but I don't think I got any sleep that night lol.

Could this be what was making the noise?

Well, something strange that has been happening to me is when I've got my headphones on, and tilt my head to the left, it occasionally feels and sounds like the headphone is scraping on metal. There's nothing there to scrape on so it's very strange.

I have strange sounds, too, but unfortunately haven't been able to figure out their source. Usually it's a sound that resembles a gnat, but much too loud for a gnat. It behaves differently in different parts of the room for unknown reason, in some parts it's louder, in some quiter. I have a theory that it comes from the street but can't be sure

On one occasion a sound's origin got discovered. It was heard like a very loud siren that wailed without interruption, and it sounded like it was coming from the roof. It turned out to be an electronic alarm clock sitting on my bedstand that chose that night to get broken

No, like rubbing them together, like when you're cold.

I hate it when you're camping and there's a mosquito in your tent. Then just as you're about to fall asleep it comes buxxing along right next to your ear...

That's why I always have my bedspread over my ear . It's also a habit.

Yes. My parents tell me that I can if it's something important. My ability to sleep is very important to me. I already tried not to, after half an hour, and trying to fix it myself, it was time.

Once there was a distinct squeaking noise coming from a shelf in my room. After about 10 minutes, I got annoyed and went to check, but there was nothing there.

When they were children, my father, his older brother and his sister swore they could hear someone breathe inside their bedroom's wall. Whenever their parents came to investigate they didn't hear a thing.
It went on for days and the kids were on the verge of hysteria. Every night as they lay still in bed, they heard the breathing.
Then after about a week, it just ended.

Then, before winter, the chimney sweeper came and found a dead owl in the chimney. It had got stuck in it and starved to death, and that's what the kids had been hearing.

Last night i heard a bang inside my closet while attempting to WILD.

I couldn't WILD in the end but i'm not sure if that was a HH or not. I didn't pay much attention to it as it wasn't much loud anyway. I just failed the WILD intentionally bcs it wasn't taking me anywhere...

Ok this isn't about what I heard, but here goes.
I was about 9 and I had not long gone to bed (and it can take me ages to get to sleep). I remember waking up and seeing things getting bigger and smaller (possibly in time with my heat beat). I absoultely freaked and ran down the hall to the lounge, cause my parents hadn't gone to bed yet, and told them what had happened.
They of course told me it was a dream and to go back to bed.
The pulsing quickly went away as I had made my way to the lounge but dreams soo don't do that.

Well the sad thing is that my brother had much the same thing happen less then two months later and mum took him seriously (course he was 4 years younger then me). She even took him to see if he needed glasses! He didn't need them obviously, but really...

And yeah, that's really annoying. Darn siblings... it's a bit strange that your parents would take the younger kid seriously though but not the older one. It would seem like a younger child would have a more vivid imagination.

oh yeah, referring to my first post, my dad found a dead mouse in a trap (he's been away for work). Us girls weren't gonna check!

As well as complaining about things getting bigger and smaller he also complained that things were suddenly fuzzy. Mum pointed to a cardboard box and asked him what it said. He said he couldn't read it, but I was pretty sure he couldn't have read it anyway (being too young). I pointed out that I had the same thing, except the fuzzies, but mum wouldn't acknowledge it. I suppose he was a bit of a drama queen. Though it is interesting if he was going through the same thing as me, I can't say I ever really talked about dreams with him... Maybe time for a catch up.

my room is in the basement, and whenever the dryer is on it makes a rattling sound in the wall. it is very annoying
