
When I go to bed if I open my eyes about five minutes after lying in bed I will see what look like little circle orbs in my line of vision. By this I mean like when you look at a light bulb (thats on) then look away and you can see the outline of it, but there are loads of them everywhere. It always make me uncomfortable because I immediately associate it with eyes and then freak myself out.
Does anyone else get this? Is this normal? Could there be something up with my eyes? It only happens at night in my bedroom, and not all the time either.

When I close my eyes and put pressure on them I see patterns that are more line based or look as if they are composed of circle grids.
I know everyone sees things when they close their eyes (and even more when they push on them).

Sometimes when I am lying down for a bit and I get up too fast, I get little dots all over my eyes, like blue- or purple-colored ones. I also sometimes get slowly-moving masses of dark shapes behind my eyelids when they're closed.

I believe that they are ultraviolet marks that can occur when looking at a light for too long (or just looking at a strong light). They almost always happen as a result of a camera flash (since those lights are very strong). They normally wear off after a while.
Do you leave any lights on when sleeping? If you do than that is definitely why they are happening.

No. I am in a dark room. And its not just one circle. Its loads. And most of them disappear when I close my eyes than appear when I open them.

ok, ok... I can say that I have had something similar to this....
I was folding some clothes on the bed, then all of the sudden it was like a click and I saw about 6 or 7 orbs, half the size of golf balls twirling in a circle, I blinked and they were still there. Thankfully, it went away a few seconds after, but it freaked me out! My vision wasn't impaired, it was like I was being allowed to see something that my eyes normally couldn't see... the orbs looked like I could reach out and grab them!![]()

I used to get this when I didn't sleep enough...
In truth, it could be a whole host of things:
-lack of sleep
-vitamin deficiency
-sensitivity to UV
-hallucination
-imagination
Anything really...
Well to clear this up, I get this very often. It can be the most simple shapes and I get so freaked out. This doesn't mean your a wimp or anything, it is simply because our logic is shut off during our dreaming and when we wake up we are still semi-conscious so whatever we see right away we focus on and it just jolts you and you get freaked out. It's called a hypnopompic state.
This means the state of consciousness leading out of sleep. the hypnopompic state is emotional and credulous dreaming cognition trying to make sense of real world stolidity. They have a different phenomenological character. Depressed frontal lobe function in the first few minutes after waking – known as "sleep inertia" – causes slowed reaction time and impaired short-term memory. Sleepers often wake confused, or speak without making sense, a phenomenon the psychologist Peter McKeller calls "hypnopompic speech."
Taken from Wikki. I did a lot of research because I get this very often. No matter how much you prepare yourelf and say "i wont let it freak me out next time it happens" it's impossible.

I used to do that all the time, along with sleep walking. Any thoughts I had I would think they are real. If I imagined I was playing with lego, I would wake up and walk around the house angry wanting to find that lego piece, then suddenly realize what was going on. I'd piss everyone off.![]()
it's okay. It's just because your eyes haven't adjusted to the light in the room. You probably notice if you wake up in the night (while it's still pitch black) and you turn the light on you flinch and it's uncomfortable.
The same thing can happen if you've been in a windowless room and go outside in the sun.
