      Sleep Paralysis... again.

So I was lying there, about to fall asleep, and then I saw an image of my house in my mind, and I started to feel awake, or something. I had an urge to open my eyes, so I did, and I couldn't move. After a second or so, I heard this "Werrn... Werrn..." Noise. Everytime I heard it, intense vibrations went up my body. It was creepy but yet awesome at the same time. I tried getting out of it, and the noise and vibrations stopped. Then they came back. Eventually I got out of it. Hey I'd love to have that again. So fun. Oh, also, my mom doesn't believe in sleep paralysis.

Tell your Mom to ask a doctor, or read up. Sleep paralysis is a scientificly accepted fact even by doctor who dont even know about lucid dreaming.

I told her to look it up. She thought I was making Sleep Paralysis up myself.

I have one question, as I said, I saw the image in my mind and I felt conscious, but then I had the urge to open my eyes. And I got sleep paralysis. I've had this twice so far. Does anyone know why I get that urge to open my eyes? What's going on?

as we might expect. The body doesn't know exactly when your mind has
fallen asleep, and for survival reasons would be dangerous for the
body to go to sleep before the mind has.

So what happens is the body tests the mind to see if it's asleep.
If you lay with a silent mind very still for about 25 minutes and are
nicely relaxed, your body will eventually send a very strong signal to
your mind saying "I'm uncomfortable, please shift your position in
      bed."

But this is just a ruse! The body is not really uncomfortable, it's
just testing to see if it can get a response from the mind. If you
ignore this signal, your body waits a few seconds and says "Hmm, the
mind must have gone to sleep. Time for me to do the same."

At that point you will literally feel a wave of heaviness come over
the body. This wave takes about 5 seconds to complete, and when it's
done your body has fallen asleep. This wave is very odd feeling and
distinct, it's something you can't miss. Before you get the
uncomfortable sensation you may also feel a little dizzy as if there's
a balloon in your upper body and head that's expanding against the
inside of your skull and skin. It's not very much pressure but it is
      there.
Thank you Jeff for that awesome guide. The whole post can be found here.

A: And you very well may never feel this "wave" i've heard so many talk about. I can recall only experiencing this "wave" once when transitioning into sleep paralysis. In my experiences with sleep paralysis...i've sunken through my bed, felt this "wave" of energy, felt vibrations, heard very loud beating on my bedroom door, and heard horrible blood-curdling screams right outside my bedroom door. These are (but not limited to) what you may experience. The buzzing sensation, ringing/roaring in the ear, and music being played are things that are a common occurrence during sleep paralysis...though i've never experienced them. Point made.
Many thanks to Jeff. The rest of the post can be found here.

Seems like you are describing your own way of feeling SP come over you. Look up Jeff's posts, they are very well done and help you understand the mind/body bond and interaction. Hope this helps, now im off to my WBTB

sleep paralysis always happens, it's just that you're concious about it or you aren't.

I can vouch for sleep paralysis, it is very real, and very scary - I used to get it frequently years ago throughout various parts of my life typically when I hadn't slept for a long period of time and had finally gotten time to rest. It's a lot like falling asleep and then waking up inbetween dimensions, where you can see but you can't control your body. You also can't breathe, can't move, and you struggle with all your power to try and control any part of your body because you want to breathe so bad or just move anything. It also feels like the weight of a thousand tons is crushing you through your bed and into your sleep dimension. It can be frightening but usually ends after 30 seconds to a minute or two for me when I perceived myself to be passing out from lack of oxygen.

Once you explore it more with lucid dreaming techniques and become less afraid of it, it turns into more of a visualization of the transition between waking/sleep... and becomes less frightening. I actually learned how to wake myself out of it finally! Now it doesn't happen anymore.

I've had my share cases of sleep paralysis coupled with half dreams or hallucinations. Scary stuff. Flashes of light, an evil feeling, going in and out of dream state, and of course being completly paralyzed. It sucks when you get a partial lucid dream that you cant control. When I get sleep paralysis I think to myself: "Aww. Not this again!". This one time in a half dream there were stampeding animals coming from behind. Good thing I beat the demon. The worst part is trying to move and getting that feeling of almost suceeding.

It's happened to me to, but it happened when I came into my body again , I felt it a very strong numbing sensation, if you're scared enough , you'll create anything out of it.
