Thread: Sleep Talking?

That happens to me almost every night

Umm what? You mean your father can't hear you sleep talking because he's snoring? Won't than mean he can hear himself snoring while he's sleeping? Or is he snoring when he is awake?

I guess i'll specify it more, he could here me talking whilst I was sleeping, but couldn't make out the words because my mom was snoring.

I know what you mean, but what do you want to discuss? If sleeptalking is a common phenomena? Yes, it is.

Hehehe, that was funny TweaK. Zooyork guy agrees, then suddenly doesn't understand! ACTUALLY, I think that Zooyork was saying ~huh?~ to justme, as justme was sounding a bit confusing, but not as confusing as Mguy before he said what he meant.

Anyway ok now I get it. Sleeptalking is pretty common, I don't think I ever had. And also sleeptalking occurs in non-rem sleep so I don't think your dreams effect what you say. So I think you can do pretty much anything in a lucid dream and not sleep talk about, if thats what your worried about?

So does my boyfriend. One night not so long ago, we both woke up in the middle of the night and realised we'd been trying to talk to each other in our sleep.
Last weekend i woke up and thumped him, quite hard.
He wanted to know why i'd done it. I accused him of punching me first.
Turns out i'd been dreaming.
Oops.
I think he forgave me though...

my brother talks in his sleep and he says the most ridiculous things. its hilarious. this one time, it basically sounded like he was a tape being fast-forwarded!

I talk in my sleep a fair bit too.

You can have conversations with people who sleep talk, even if you dont understand them! If someone is talking and you say "yeah" or "really" they react! It's funny, try it!

When my sister and I both lived at home we would mumble to eachother from separate rooms. We would have full conversations that never made sense. I did it at horse camp, my counselor told me once she heard me say "oh Derby!", which was a horse that year!

Yeah, it is hilarious, haha! I have talked to my mom when she's asleep, and heard my sisters do it. She would make replies which didn't make any sense at all.

Me: Mom, can you drive me to the store?
Mom: I don't like cats.

Something like that, just an example.

Last night I was really tired and fell asleep on the couch. My sister woke me up to send me upstairs and apparently I was really mean and being 'evil'. Also she said I kept blinking and that I couldn't see her. I have absolutely no memory of this whatsoever. I'm not sure whether this is relevent or not to sleep talking but it seems to coincide. By the way I'm not a nasty person I'm quite easy-going so I don't know where this came from. Apparently I also said to her, "Do you have any idea what you've done?"

Haha. Now when I think back, I recall I was being rude and swearing when half-asleep, when my mom tried to wake me up for school before. I didn't even realise I was awake; I thought I was dreaming and that some DC was nagging at me to annoy me.

Yeah, I've done things like that. I'm a pretty heavy sleep talker, and once when my fiance and I were napping, I thought he had been talking to me. So, I first said, "What was that, honey?" really soft. He didn't answer so, I almost yelled, "What were you SAYING??!!" LOl. Turns out I had been dreaming the whole thing.

I've heard people sleep talk in many occasions and a lot of times that people slept in the same room as me they said I talk in my sleep. I wonder what I could say!!! My brother would have really stupid talks during his sleep and I'm pretty worried about having these too!

I always know when I'm sleep talking, even within the context of the dream I'll be aware that I'm saying stuff out loud in real life too. It's really hard to get the words out, but I can.

Usually a DC will ask me a question and I'm trying to explain things to them.

Apparently when I sleeptalk and my sisters try to talk to me, most of the time I start arguing haha.
