I don't see how it would help you recognize you're dreaming unless somehow you trained your mind to associate a temperature with being asleep. (A challenging task!)
BTW, If I get really warm at night, I tend to have nightmares.
I have a hard time WILDing if I'm cold (especially if my feet are cold).![]()
In my experience Cold tends to raise consciousness and makes one more aware and awake whereas heat/warmth seems to lower consciousness and makes one more drowsy and sleepy.
However in summertime, with a warm bedroom, I seem to have infinitely more vivid and memorable dreams than in winter or autumn.

I have a hard time falling asleep when it's hot, but I sleep deeper so I get a REM rebound.

You should have whatever temperature is most comfortable for you, so you will be in a deeper sleep = more stable dreams and more stable lucids if you obtain them.![]()
