What is in the 5 hour energy?

I tried this the other night - just one shot - along with a B6 pill and melatonin. I stayed up later than usual until I felt tired and finally went to bed around 12:45. I woke up around four, wrote down a dream. No dreams when I woke up around 9:00, and I was a little disappointed because I didn't think I'd be able to have any more dreams. My boyfriend went downstairs, but I was still tired so I fell back asleep.
Guess who became lucid??![]()
It was an incredibly vivid dream that involved a lot more control than I usually experience. Before this, I hadn't had a lucid dream in over two weeks.
I'm going to give it a try again. And just so everyone knows, if you're already sleepy, the shot does not "wake you up" or make you feel jittery at all. It says on the bottle that it's equal to about half a cup of decaf coffee. More than anything, it wakes up your mind and helps you concentrate on your dreaming goals.
I'd like to suggest this to you all and see what kind of results others have with this product.

What is in the 5 hour energy?
From their site:
Vitamins
Vitamin B6
Vitamin B12
Niacin (Vitamin B3)
Folic Acid (Vitamin B9)
Energy Blend
Citicoline (as of October 2007)
Tyrosine
Phenylalanine
Taurine
Malic Acid
Glucuronolactone
Caffeine
I've tried it before and generally liked it, although once I took it late at night and it gave me a weird feeling so I stopped using it. But basically it is a blend of vitamins and amino acids, as seen above.

It also has choline in it! ...which I've heard increases lucid activity as well. I've got one more shot so I'll probably try it again this week. It's about $5 for two shots at Walgreens. The decaf is citrus flavored and it's not too bad although I would recommend following it up with some water.

I've had very good results with Brawndo and RockStar. Not sure of the exact ingredients, but they at least have Taurine and caffeine in common with 5-Hour Energy.
I suspect the Tyrosine and Phenylalanine have a lot to do with it as well. I had success on Tyrosine. Tyrosine and I believe Phenylanlanine increase dopamine, according to the Advanced Lucid Dreaming book Dopamine makes dreams vivid, perhaps is necessary to dream. It also gives you energy, and I beleive you must be at a fine line between sleep and wakefulness in order to lucid dream.
awhile ago I bought a case of extra strength 5 hour energy off of ebay, best energy drink I have ever had. I noticed that the ingredients could help with this but they just give me way too much energy to fall asleep.
