      so i purchased some B6

      Hello all!
      Well earlier today I purchased some Vitamin B-6, and I have a few questions.
      1. When should I take it?
      2. Why doesn't the bottle rapping say anything about increased dream vividness?

      Well, the time varies a bit from person to person I think, but overall I find it more effective to take with my dinner which is generally a few hours before bed.

      I use 250mg time released if anything, coupled with a b complex.. so if you are not using a time release tablet it may be better to do right before bed.. although I cannot say for sure.

      And the bottle doesn't specify anything about dreams because thats the last thing this supplement was designed for . I find B6 nearly useless without a good amount of Tryptophan. This is the reason b6 is commonly attributed to increasing dream vividness.. B6 takes trypt and essentially converts it into Serotonin, which in turn generally results in much more vivid dreams.

      Not to worry, tryptophan can be found in many natural food sources.. cheddar cheese, chicken, salmon, lamb, egg, flour, white rice, and milk.. and many more. A search on google can find you a list with even more. You may have trouble getting "enough" of it from natural food. (Although recommended dosage of B6 is 1.3~ mg for example, most supplements are 100-200mg+. Any little bit should help however. I find eating proper meals throughout the days helps more then a magic pill ever could. Dreams are not reliant on pills, dont make supplements your crutch in dreaming.. Its ok once in a while but meh.

      Im not a doctor, I am only going on what i've read over the time I've been here and personal experiences.. B6 is not a magic pill that will give you super vivid dreams.. although some people claim it to be so. I dont doubt it works as such for some people, but I really wouldn't get your hopes up to high. I suggest reading around a bit more to familiarize your self in the whole process.

      2: It doesn't say anything on the bottle because that is not it's primary purpose, it's just a side effect.

      For me B6 works well if taken about 30 to 45 minutes before bedtime when I have eaten chocolate and drank some milk. It seems to take 200mg to work, and has given me lucid dreams a few different nights, and the nights it didn't, on all but one, I had extremely vivid dreams and recalled the dreams very well. There has been a study done which confirms B6 gives vivid dreams, the dose that worked in the study was 250mg.

      Take a 100mg, before bedtime. It does not improve lucidity but dream vividness. Try not to take it every night for long periods as consistent high dosages do have side-effects.

      Recall is the most desired side effect, not the vividness, although B6 does give you both.

      Thats strange becuase I find it doesn't help my recall. Infact I feel that it blocks my initial recall, only to reveal the dream details gradually during the day.

      - I would start with 100-150MG and up it 50MG- (maybe 100MG) each night for 3-4 few nights. Keep a journal of your experiences - it'll make it more interesting!

      B6 works wonders in making my dreams more vivid and just crazy. It doesn't seem to really do anything for waking up in the dream though (but this has happened to me after taking B6.)

      Shady - One thing I'm intrigued by is Shady's post stating that B6 is nearly useless without the addition of tryptophan. Shady I wanted to email you directly on this but your account settings won't allow me to do so. If you read this, can you elaborate more on this? I'm taken B6 quite a few times (with success) and have never supplemented with tryptophan. I'm quite curious now about this additional chemical.

      I took a vitamin b supplement once and didnt sleep almost all night.
      Now I just take 1 choline supplement every morning before breakfast and I really think it has helped.
