      tabacco?

I am a big fan of smoking hookah, I was wondering if anyone else smokes hookah/ tabacco before going to sleep and how/ if it affects dreaming in any way. I heard that it can help with attaining lucidity. So far I've had 6 lucids and they've been attained randomly, either by noticing dream signs or through RCs.

Supposedly, tobacco does increase vividness and getting to REM faster. I know first hand after waking up 4.5 hours, by smoking a cigarette, that it helps me fall back asleep and even achieve lucidity sometimes. However, I do not encourage, or promote smoking.

I have smoked non-stop for two years but 10 months ago I stopped.
I had my first cigarette last night for 10 months and had a LD that night.

I haven't had an LD for 11 months.

Just don't start smoking again, definitely not worth the health risks. I'm actually trying to quit, so I'm going to be using the nicotine patches to help me quit....Maybe I'll use a patch once in a great while to help induce a lucid. Definitely works though. Best results I've seen, with the right mindset!

Now that it is warm outside I have been smoking my tobacco pipe, often right before bedtime. (probably for about a month now) I have not had any LD's in that time, my last round was about 1 1/2 - 2 months ago. I didn't even know it was a potential aid but it does not seem to be working for me. But I try to WBTB around 4 or 5 every morning, so perhaps I will start smoking my pipe then instead of before bedtime. When do you smoke your hookah Schmaven?

I've known people who use nicotine patches to get more vivid dreams.

Tobacco doesn't seem like a good idea to me, unless you are already smoking for other reasons. There are lots of other things you could use that do not have the same addictive and deadly side effects.

Even if smoking does help with dreaming, you will have far less dreams considering that you die sooner.

Tabacco, yes, I spelled it wrong again ;-)

Lately I've been smoking before I go to bed, not right before, but like an hour or two. This one kid I knew would just smoke then pass out minutes after taking the last hit and he said it gave him crazy dreams. As soon as my stuffy nose goes away I'm going to try smoking right before bed. I think it could help with WILDing by helping with the relaxing stage so you enter the dream faster.

Personally, I don't find smoking sheesha (flavored tobacco) addictive at all. I have no problems going a month or more without smoking, and I don't get any cravings to.

Last night I tried smoking my pipe when I woke up for my WBTB at around 6 in the morning. I slept for another hour and a half after that. I actually felt like I slept harder and remembered less of my dreams than I normally do in the early morning. I guess tobacco doesn't affect me in the same way. bummer... however I will try it again to make sure this is truly the case.

I only smoke my pipe during the summer which lasts about 3 months where I live. I don't find it addictive either but I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority. Also, I believe that sheesha and pipe tobacco don't have the extremely addictive additives that cigarettes do, namely the elevated levels of nicotine.

does it make that big sense to you if it's tobacco or tabacco? i think you get the idea of what he meant anyway.

Anyway... i like smoking hookah to, and i use to put in some dried mugwort in the tobacco.
Just smoking tobacco doesn't effect the dreaming for me, at least not that much.

      I won't defend smoking

smoking definitely is bad for you, but I enjoy it from time to time. In fact, I'm going to fire up the hookah right now and see if it'll help me get lucid tonight.
