I get ideas for art from dreams, as well as for storywriting. I don't recall necessarily dreams making me better at something, though.

firstly, im not sure if im on the right board. this isnt about lucid dreaming so it makes some sense to put it here.
does anybody ever find that sleeping makes you "better" at something? for example, i tried to learn a tough song on guitar before bed. i was almost there, but my fingers didnt have that natural, flowing motion i get when i really know how to play something. i practiced for a while and then decided to sleep. i woke up the next morning and i suddenly had the natural motions when i know how to play something. i didnt think i dreamt of playing guitar, but i noticably made progress while sleeping.
does anybody know how this works? its pretty cool though.

Starting fresh... Dreams recalled this week: 2/5 | Lucids this month: 0/5

maybe its just memory overnight. i thought it might be somebkind of fancy subconacious thing![]()
like for guitar i get better at the song but i especially dont have to look back at the notes. i can play it as if i knew it already. i dont need to review. this happens most of the time when i sleep.
its not necessarily getting better, its more a memory thing. i think.
