Siblings, being woken up too suddenly and anything that makes my head throb.
Listening to music often lowers my recall, staying up to late, not getting enough sleep.
Bright lights on while I wake up, and loud noises.
I was just curious about what sorts of things keep you guys from having dreams?
I remember dreams almost every night, so it is noticeable for me what sorts of conditions stop dreams or don't allow me to remember dreams. I've found that alcohol or being sick definitely keeps me from dreaming, or perhaps from remembering dreams. Also, sharing a bed with someone often keeps dream away.
Also, in all of these cases, I also don't sleep as well, which I'm sure is not a surprise.
My deepest apologies if this is a topic that has been talked to death, as it seems like an issue which must have been discussed before.![]()
Just the fact that my alarm clock is halfway across the room - which forces me to stand up to turn it off - really seems to tank my dream recall...it's only on days that I wake up naturally that I can remember anything of my dreams. (Probably because if you start moving your body right after you wake up, the memory of your dreams slips away quicker.)
So yeah. Alarm clocks = BAD FOR DREAM RECALL. At least in my own experience.

"Take atheism, for example. Not a religion? Their pseudo-dogmatic will to convert others to their system of beliefs is eerily reminiscent of the very behavior they criticize in the religious."
