Question DreamJournal logistics question-typed vs. handwritten

      Hey all,
I'm new here, but I have kept a written dream journal in the past-but only for short periods. The idea of keeping a DJ on this forum is appealing. It'd probably help me be more consistent with my journaling. The idea of getting feedback on my dreams is appealing as well-and of course I imagine many of you have formed many friendships on here that play a large role in keep you coming back?
Anyway-my question is this. Do you all keep a written DJ and online DJ? I've heard it's best to not move too much when awaking-and to record dreams immediately. Even though I have a laptop, it'd be kind of cumbersome to write my dreams on my laptop in the middle of the night.

Advice from experiences you've all had is welcome!

I keep both a written DJ and one on here. The written DJ is for waking up in the middle of the night, leaning over and scribbling, in bad grammar, what I can remember. I use my cell phone screen to see with so I don't have to turn on a light and wake myself up too much. Then, I come on here and organize those written thoughts a bit better, fleshing out where I can. In doing this I often remember other dreams or new details. I haven't been here long, but this seems to be an efficient system.

I keep a written one and an online one.

I tend to forget things within seconds, so I keep a notebook and pen beside me on the bed. Turning on the computer will take too long, I usually write when Im still half asleep. Sometime during the day, I type it up.

I keep a typed dream journal on my laptop, but of course I wait till day to write in it. Perhaps you should just keep a notebook on your nightstand to write down keywords about the dream, and type it down in details later.
